A Guide to Getting Started with ESP32-DevKitC V4 [] The ESP32-DevKitC V4 development board can be used as demonstrated in this tutorial. See the ESP32 Hardware Reference for a description of additional ESP32-DevKitC variants. What You Require: The board ESP32-DevKitC V4 Micro USB B/USB cable, Windows, Linux, or macOS computer. You can proceed straight to Section Start Application Development and bypass the introduction sections. Summary Espressif manufactures the tiny ESP32-based development board known as the ESP32-DevKitC V4. For ease of interfacing, the majority of the I/O pins are broken out to the pin headers on both sides. Developers have two options: put the ESP32-DevKitC V4 on a breadboard or use jumper wires to connect peripherals. The ESP32-DevKitC V4 variants listed below are available to meet a variety of user needs: various ESP32 modules, ESP32-WROO, M-32 ESP32-WRO, M-32D ESP32-WR, OM-32U ESP32-SOLO-1, ESP32-WROVE, ESP32-WROVER-B, ESP2-WROVER-II headers for the male or female pins of the ESP32-WROVER-B (IPEX). Please see the Espressif Product Ordering Information for further information. Description of Function The main parts, interfaces, and controls of the ESP32-DevKitC V4 board are shown in the following image and table.
Power Supply Options There are three mutually exclusive ways to provide power to the board: Micro USB port, default power supply, 5V / GND header pin,s 3V3 / GND header pin.s Warning The power supply must be provided using one and only one of the options above; otherwise, the board and/or the power supply source can be damaged. Note on C15: The component C15 may cause the following issues on earlier ESP32-DevKitC V4 boards: The board may boot into Download mode If you output clock on GPIO0, C15 may impact the signal. In case these issues occur, please remove the component. The figure below shows C15 highlighted in yellow.
Perawatan & Pangropéa
Penanganan & Panyimpenan
- Always handle the board with clean, dry hands to avoid static discharge and corrosion.
- Store the board in an anti-static bag or container when not in use.
- Avoid bending or applying pressure on the PCB or pin headers.
Kasalametan kakuatan
- Only use regulated 5V power supplies or USB ports to prevent overvoltage karuksakan.
- Do not connect power to both the USB port and the external 5V pin simultaneously unless verified by schematic.
- Always disconnect power before wiring or removing components from the board.
beberesih
- If dust accumulates, clean gently using a soft brush or compressed air.
- Never use water, alcohol, or cleaning solutions on the board.
- Avoid touching the metal contacts and microcontroller chip directly.
Connection Care
- Use a high-quality Micro USB cable for programming and power.
- Ensure all jumper wires and connectors are properly seated to prevent shorts or loose connections.
- Double-check pin connections before powering on, especially when connecting sensors or modules.
Perlindungan Lingkungan
- Keep the board away from moisture, humidity, and direct sunlight.
- Avoid exposing the board to extreme temperatures (below 0°C or above 60°C).
- Ensure proper ventilation when used in enclosed project cases to prevent overheating.
Software & Firmware Maintenance
- Keep your ESP32 board drivers and firmware updated for the best performance.
- When uploading new code, ensure that the correct COM port and board type are selected in your IDE.
- Avoid interrupting firmware uploads to prevent boot issues.
Longevity Tips
- Do not leave the board powered continuously for long periods without cooling.
- Handle with care when inserting or removing from a breadboard to avoid pin bending or cracking.
- Regularly inspect USB and power ports for dust or wear.
