Assembly Instructions
IMPORTANT! To ensure safe operation, please follow these instructions carefully. Keep them for future reference.
IMPORTANT! Before assembly and each use, inspect the product for damaged hardware, loose joints, missing parts, or sharp edges. NEVER use if any parts are missing or broken.
IMPORTANT! Adult assembly is required.
Remove stroller from box. The front wheel, rear wheels, fender, and parent tray need to be installed prior to use.
Front Wheel Assembly
Step 1: Lean the stroller backward so it rests on the handle and rear axle frame, with the front wheel forks pointing upward. (Refer to Figure 1).
Step 2: Slide the front wheel onto the front forks. (Refer to Figure 2).
Step 3: Slide the retainer plate onto the front wheel axle. Ensure the raised lip points toward the fork and insert it into the slot on the fork. The tab on the retainer plate must align with the slot before tightening the wheel. (Refer to Figure 3).
Step 4: With the wheel in position, install the axle nuts and tighten with a wrench. You should feel significant resistance, and the wheel should be held tightly in place. (Refer to Figure 4).
Rear Wheel Assembly
Step 5: Lean the stroller forward to rest on the front wheel. To attach the rear wheels, push each wheel's axle into the plastic corner fitting. Depress the metal lever on the inside of the corner fitting while pushing the axle in. When the wheel stops, release the lever. Check that the wheel is locked by pulling on it. If not locked, lift the lever, push the wheel further, and release the lever. Ensure wheels are firmly locked. (Refer to Figure 5).
Parent Tray Assembly
WARNING: Do not place hot liquids or more than 3 pounds in the parent tray. Serious burns or unstable conditions could result.
Step 6: To attach the parent tray, align the fittings on the tray ends with the fittings on the outside of the handle. Hook the tray's hole onto the handle. Pull outward on the opposite end while pushing down on the tray until it locks onto the stroller handle. Be careful not to pinch your fingers. To remove, pull outward on one end while lifting upward. (Refer to Figure 6).
Canopy Assembly
Step 7: To open the canopy, push forward on the front edge while holding the rear of the canopy in place. (Refer to Figure 7).
Step 8: To fold the canopy, pull backward on the front edge. (Refer to Figure 8).
Child Tray Assembly
Step 9: To attach the child tray, align it at a 90° angle to your left side armrest. Push the tray firmly to lock it into place. Rotate the tray downward until latched onto your right side armrest. Check that the snap button securely latches the tray. (Refer to Figures 9a and 9b).
Step 10: To access the child seat, press inward on the left side tray release button and rotate the tray upward. To remove the child tray, press the snap button and rotate the tray upward, then unlock and flip it freely. Rotate 180° and pull it out. (Refer to Figures 10a, 10b, and 10c).
Seatback Positioning
Step 11: The seat has a multiple position recline controlled by a strap and buckle assembly behind the seat. To recline, loosen the strap and adjust to the desired position. To place the seat back in a more upright position, press upward on the seat back with one hand while pulling the strap with the other. The strap will lock automatically. (Refer to Figures 11a and 11b).
The upright position should only be used for children at least 6 months old. Always readjust the safety harness, including shoulder belts, when repositioning the seatback.
Infant Car Seat Installation
See Additional Car Seat/Jogging Warning Page 25.
Step 12: Put the stroller seat in the full recline position. Turn car seat support tabs on the stroller frame. Position the infant car seat facing the rear of the stroller, and ensure the seat shell latches into the front tray. (Refer to Figures 11a, 12a, and 12b).
Step 13: When the infant car seat is locked firmly, secure the short clip over the car seat through its seat belt path. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THE SHORT CLIP IS ALWAYS TIGHTLY FASTENED AROUND THE INFANT CAR SEAT. (Refer to Figure 13).
Step 14: To remove the Infant Car Seat, remove the short clip, squeeze the release handle at the foot-end of the seat, and carefully lift upward. (Refer to Figure 14).
Usage and Safety Features
General Safety
Before placing children in the stroller, follow all instructions.
WARNING: Always check with your pediatrician for a recommended starting age/weight for your baby in an all-terrain stroller.
WARNING: Always set brakes when the stroller is not being pushed to prevent it from rolling away. NEVER leave the stroller unattended on a hill or incline.
Brakes
Step 15: To engage brakes, apply light downward pressure to the brake lever on each rear wheel. You may need to move the stroller slightly forward or backward to align the brake teeth with the wheel brake cluster. Check that the stroller will not move and both brakes are properly applied. To release, gently lift up on the brake lever. (Refer to Figure 15).
Front Wheel Lock
WARNING: Always lock the front swivel wheel in the STRAIGHT position before placing or removing children from the jogger.
FALL HAZARD: Before running, jogging, or walking fast, lock the front wheel from swiveling to prevent tip-overs.
Step 16: The front wheels have a swivel locking device. Push the button upward to engage locks and downward to disengage. (Refer to Figure 16).
Securing the Child
WARNING: Avoid serious injury from falling or sliding out. Always use the safety harness.
STRANGULATION HAZARD: Children can strangle in loose straps. Never leave a child in the seat when straps are loose or undone.
Step 17: The 5-point harness has 3 attachment positions. Select the position that places the shoulder strap level with, or below, the child's shoulder. (Refer to Figure 17a).
Carefully place the child in the stroller seat. Bring the safety harness around the child's waist and over the shoulders. Place the crotch strap between the child's legs. Insert the male ends of the shoulder/waist belts into the crotch strap buckle. Tighten the harness to be snug around the child's waist and over their shoulders. (Refer to Figure 17b).
Step 18: To release the harness, push the button on the center clasp. (Refer to Figure 18).
Step 19: To release clips, apply pressure to both sides of each male clip until it releases. This requires moderate effort to prevent accidental release by the child. (Refer to Figure 19).
Jogging Safety
WARNING: Never jog or run with your newborn in the car seat position. Use for strolling only.
STRANGULATION HAZARD: Children have strangled when straps wrapped around their neck. Remove straps when not in use and place in stroller storage pocket. Keep this stroller carrier strap out of children's reach.
When jogging, use the following safety features:
- Lock the front swivel wheel in the straight position.
Step 20: Safety Wrist Strap: Always connect the safety strap to your wrist when jogging. This strap will keep the stroller from rolling away if you trip. The strap must remain connected to the rear lower frame cross member to prevent tipping backward. The strap includes a hook and loop attachment for storage when not in use. (Refer to Figures 20a and 20b).
Tires
Step 21: Tire Pump (if equipped): Remove the flexible air hose, thread the brass fitting into the pump, and thread the air nozzle tip onto the rim's valve stem. Hold the pump body, pull back the handle, and press down to pump air. (Refer to Figure 21).
Tires are shipped un-inflated. Inflate tires regularly to the specified PSI using a bicycle-style hand air pump.
Folding and Unfolding
WARNING: Be careful when folding and unfolding to prevent finger entrapment.
CAUTION: Do not allow children near the stroller while folding.
Step 22: Folding: Close the canopy and recline the seat. Pull each trigger fold simultaneously. Release the fold buttons and press downward on the stroller handle until completely folded. Secure the stroller with the fold latch. (Refer to Figures 22a and 22b).
Step 23: Unfolding: Stand the stroller on the ground with all three wheels touching. Release the folding latch. Lift the stroller handle with both hands until the frame is erected and locked open. Ensure spring-loaded latches are fully engaged. (Refer to Figures 23a and 23b).
Wheel Installation Check
WARNING: ALWAYS check the double nut locking system before each use to ensure the front wheel is securely fastened.
Step 24: Fender Installation: Examine the bottom of the front fender for plastic tubes. Align these tubes with the holes in the front frame assembly. Press the fender onto the frame. Insert 4 screws through the underside of the frame into the fender's tubes. Tighten screws until snug; DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. (Refer to Figures 24a, 24b, 24c, and 24d).
To remove the fender, reverse step 24.
Step 25: Wheel Security Check: Lift the front wheel off the ground and strike the top of the tire firmly. The wheel should not be loose or come off.
Step 26: Wheel Wobble Adjustment: If the front wheel wobbles excessively, adjust the front wheel housing nut located under the footrest. Use a standard wrench to tighten the nut; DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN, as this can damage the wheel housing. (Refer to Figure 26).
Maintenance
Wheel Adjustment: Strollers may tend to pull left or right due to factors like uneven tire pressure or improper installation. If your stroller pulls significantly, follow instructions on page 9.
Flat Tire: The jogging stroller uses bicycle tires. If you get a flat tire, you can repair it with a standard bicycle tire repair kit or take it to a bicycle shop. Consider thorn-proof inner tubes for frequent flats. Ensure you purchase the correct size.
