Quick Start Guide

Follow these steps to begin metal detecting with your Minelab Manticore:

1. Step 1: Turn On ?
2. Step 2: Select Search Mode ?
3. Step 3: Noise Cancel ?
4. Step 4: Go to Search ➡️

Search Modes

The Manticore offers specialized search modes for different environments:

Tip: Can't decide which mode to use? Use the General mode for your search terrain.

Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your Minelab Manticore:

1. Attach the search coil to the lower shaft.
2. Connect the lower shaft to the middle shaft.
3. Connect the middle shaft to the upper shaft (control box).

Cam Lock Adjustment: Tighten the cam lock if it slips or loosens. Ensure it is securely fastened. Open ?, tighten gently ?, close ?. Check and repeat if necessary ✔️.

Charging

Full Charge Time: 7-8 Hours

Partial Charge Time: 3 Hours

WARNING: Charge the detector using a good quality USB charger with a minimum output of 2A at 5V. Look for markings like CE, EAC, Intertek on the charger. Using low-quality chargers may cause failure.

WARNING: Charge only in an ambient temperature range of 0°C to +40°C (32°F to 104°F). ?️

Connect the USB-A cable ? to the detector and a suitable power source.

Controls and Display

Familiarize yourself with the Manticore's controls and display:

• LED Status Indicator ?: Shows charging status.
• Large Metal Overload Warning ⚠️: Indicates a very strong target signal.
• Search Mode Indicator ?: Displays the currently selected search mode.

The Action Bar [dynamic] displays context-sensitive actions/icons.

• Sensitivity Adjustment ⬆️/⬇️: Press from the Detect screen to adjust sensitivity.
• Precision Mode ?: Press from the Detect screen to switch precision mode.

Other Controls & Indicators:

• Ground Tracking ⛰️: For automatic ground balancing.
• Wireless Audio ?: Enables wireless headphone connection.
• Light Sensor ☀️: Adjusts screen brightness automatically.
• Headphone Connection ?: Indicates headphone status.
• Battery Level/Charging ?: Detailed battery status.
• Target ID Number ?: Displays the target's conductivity and iron characteristics.
• Conductivity ID: e.g., 88
• Iron Bias ID: e.g., 88 (with iron indicator)
