Quick Start Guide
Follow these simple steps to begin your search:
- Turn On Detector: Press the power button ⚡.
- Select Search Mode: Choose a mode suitable for your environment.
- Ground Balance: Perform ground balancing for optimal performance.
- Start Searching: Begin detecting!
Tip: If unsure which mode to select, use the Standard mode.
Search Modes
The Manticore offers various search modes tailored for different conditions:
- Gold: Ideal for finding gold nuggets in mineralized ground.

- Beach: Excellent for all saltwater conditions, including dry sand, wet sand, surf, and underwater searching.

- All-Terrain: Convenient for detecting targets in trashy areas, recreational areas, fields, and historical sites, as well as general searching.

Assembly
Assemble your Minelab Manticore detector by connecting the main components:
Eccentric Clamp Tightening: If the shaft clamps become loose or shift during use, tighten them:
- Open the clamp.
- Gently turn the screw mechanism.
- Close the clamp.
- Check for a secure fit. Repeat if necessary.
Charging the Detector
A full charge typically takes 7-8 hours. A partial charge can be achieved in approximately 3 hours.
Important Charging Notes:
- Use a quality USB charger with a minimum output of 2A at 5V. Low-quality chargers may cause damage.
- Ensure the charger has the following markings: [CE Mark] [EAC Mark] [Intertek Mark].
- Charge the detector at an ambient temperature between 0°C and +40°C.
Controls and Display Overview
Familiarize yourself with the detector's controls and display:
- Charging LED: Indicates charging status (Red for charging, Green for fully charged).
- Overload Indicator: Appears when the detector senses a very strong target signal.
- Search Mode Indicator: Shows the currently selected search mode.
- Frequency Indicator: Displays the operating frequency.
- Volume Control: Adjusts the audio output volume ?.
- Power Button: Turns the detector on/off ⚡.
- Sensitivity Adjustment: Controls the detector's sensitivity level ⬆️.
- Backlight/Illumination: Adjusts screen brightness ?.
- Flashlight: Built-in flashlight ?.
- Navigation Buttons: Four directional buttons (Up ⬆️, Down ⬇️, Left ⬅️, Right ➡️) and an Enter/Select button for menu navigation and adjustments.

- Pinpoint Function: Activate by pressing the Down arrow ⬇️ on the search screen to precisely locate a target.
Display Information
The main display provides real-time information:
- Target ID: Numerical value indicating the likely type of metal.
- Iron Bias: Indicates the likelihood of the target being iron.
- Conductivity: Shows the target's conductivity value (0-99).
- Target Depth: Estimated depth of the target.
- Target Indication Map: A visual representation showing target characteristics.
- Ground Balance Tracking: Indicates if ground balance is actively tracking.
- Wireless Audio: Status of wireless headphone connection.
- Battery Level: Shows remaining battery power.
Settings Menu
Access the settings menu ⚙️ by tapping the menu icon ☰ on the search screen. Common settings include:
