Assembly Instructions
Follow these steps to assemble your Minelab Vanquish 340 metal detector:
- Step 1: Attach the search coil to the lower shaft.
- Step 2: Connect the lower shaft to the mid shaft.
- Step 3: Connect the mid shaft to the control box assembly.
- Step 4: Insert 4 AA batteries [?] into the battery compartment on the control box.
- Step 5: Adjust shaft lengths and lock mechanisms as needed for comfortable use.

Quick Start
- Power On: Press the power button [⚡].
- Wait: Allow the detector to initialize for approximately 5 seconds.
- Start Detecting: Begin your search.
Search Modes
The Vanquish 340 features multiple search modes tailored for different environments:
Coin Mode
Ideal for finding coins from around the world in parks or beaches, without being bothered by trash.
Jewellery Mode
Designed to search for valuable lost jewellery anywhere.
All Metal Mode
Detects all types of metal, including iron.
Controls
Familiarize yourself with the control panel buttons:
- 1. Power On/Off: Turns the detector on or off.
- 2. Volume Up/Down: Adjusts the audio volume [?].
- 3. Sensitivity Up/Down: Adjusts the detector's sensitivity to targets.
- 4. Search Mode: Selects the desired search mode [?].
- 5. Target ID Guide: Provides information on target identification numbers.
Display
Understand the information shown on the display screen:
- 6. Battery Level: Indicates the remaining battery power [?].
- 7. Volume Level: Shows the current audio volume setting [?].
- 8. Sensitivity Level: Displays the current sensitivity setting.
- 9. Target ID Number: A numerical value indicating the likely type of metal detected.
- 10. Depth Indicator: Shows the estimated depth of the target.
- 11. Search Mode Indicator: Displays the currently active search mode [?].
- 12. Discrimination Segment: Visualizes the discrimination settings, showing which metals are being ignored.
