Minelab Manticore: Getting Started Guide

Introduction

This guide provides essential information for setting up and starting your Minelab Manticore metal detector.

Search Modes

Trash Rejection

Suitable for detecting gold nuggets in mineralized areas.

General

Can't decide which mode to use? Use General mode for location detecting.

All Terrain

Includes most general detecting. Suitable for trash-heavy parks, fields, and historical sites.

Beach

Suitable for all salinity conditions, including dry sand, wet sand, surf, and underwater.

Deep

For deep targets.

Saltwater/Surf

For surfing and saltwater environments.

Quick Start Guide

Step 1: Power On

Press the power button [⏻] to turn on the detector.

Step 2: Select Detection Mode

Choose your desired search mode from the available options.

Step 3: Noise Cancel

Perform noise cancellation [⚙️] to optimize performance in your environment.

Step 4: Start Detecting

Begin your metal detecting search [▶️].

Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your Minelab Manticore.

Step 1: Connect Lower Shaft to Control Box

Insert the lower shaft into the control box and secure it.

Step 2: Attach Coil Cable

Connect the coil cable to the control box.

Step 3: Assemble Shaft Sections

Join the shaft sections together. Use the cam locks to secure them.

Cam Lock Adjustment

If cam locks are loose or slipping, tighten them.

Step 4: Attach Coil

Mount the search coil onto the lower shaft.

Step 5: Connect Coil to Shaft

Secure the coil cable along the shaft.

Step 6: Final Assembly

Ensure all connections are secure.

Charging

Charging Time

Full charge: 7-8 hours.

Quick charge: 3 hours.

Charging Instructions

Use a high-quality USB charger with a minimum output of 2A @ 5V [?] to charge the detector. Using low-quality chargers may damage the USB port.

Ensure the charger has the following marks: CE, EAC.

Caution: Only charge the detector within an ambient temperature range of 0°C to +40°C [?️].

Battery Level/Charging

Shows remaining battery life and charging status [?].

Target ID Number

Displays the conductivity (1-99) and ferrous (iron) indication of the target.

Wireless Audio ON/OFF

Indicates status of wireless audio connection [?].

Target Depth Indicator

Estimates the depth of the target [?].

Side Soft Keys [x2]

Perform various functions depending on the context [?️].

On-Screen Controls

Sensitivity Adjustment
