Minelab X-TERRA PRO Metal Detector Getting Started Guide
This guide provides essential information for quickly setting up and operating your Minelab X-TERRA PRO metal detector.

Quick Start
Follow these four steps to begin detecting:
- 1. Turn On: Press the power button.
- 2. Select Search Mode: Choose the appropriate mode for your environment.
- 3. Noise Cancel: Perform a noise cancel if needed.
- 4. Go Detecting: Start searching for targets.
Search Modes
The X-TERRA PRO offers several search modes tailored for different conditions:
- PARK: Ideal for high-trash recreational areas and general detecting.
- Target Icons: [General & Coins], [Fine Jewellery], [Coins & Artefacts]
- FIELD: Suited for historical fields, accommodating a wide range of target sizes.
- Target Icons: [Fine Coins & Artefacts]
- BEACH: Designed for all salty conditions, including dry sand, wet sand, surf, and underwater use.
- Target Icons: [Wet & Dry Sand], [Underwater & Surf]
Assembly
Assemble your X-TERRA PRO detector by following these steps:
- Attach the lower shaft to the search coil.
- Connect the middle shaft to the lower shaft.
- Mount the control box onto the middle shaft.
- Secure the cables along the shafts.
- Adjust the shaft length for comfortable use.
- Connect headphones if desired.
- Attach the armrest for support.
- Insert the battery.
- Ensure all connections are secure and the assembly is stable.

Charging
Your detector requires charging before first use.
- Charging Time: Approximately 5-6 hours.
- Charger Requirements: Use a good-quality USB charger with a minimum capacity of 2A @ 5V. Using a low-quality charger may lead to failure.
- Safety Marks: Look for certification marks such as CE, EAC, and Intertek on your USB charger.
Controls & Display
Familiarize yourself with the detector's controls and display:
Indicators:
- Tracking Ground Balance Indicator
- Charge Status LED
- Battery Level / Charging Indicator
- Discrimination Scale
Buttons & Functions:
- Power ⏻: Turns the detector on/off.
- Sensitivity Level: Adjusts sensitivity. Short press toggles backlight ?; long press activates flashlight.
- Frequency Display: Shows the current operating frequency.
- Pinpoint Indicator: Aids in locating targets precisely.
- Search Modes Button: Selects the search mode.
- Sensitivity and Settings Adjust (Minus/Plus): Fine-tune settings.
- Search Mode Button: Selects the search mode.
- All Metal Button: Activates All Metal mode.
- Pinpoint/Detect Button: Engages pinpoint mode or detects targets.
Display Elements:
- Depth Gauge
- Target Identification Number
Settings Menu:
Access settings by pressing the settings button (often indicated by a gear icon ⚙️ or similar). Short press scrolls through settings:
- Noise Cancel
- Ground Balance
- Volume Adjust ?
