Search Modes
The Manticore offers several search modes tailored for different environments and targets:
- Gold: [gold-nugget-icon] Ideal for gold prospecting in mineralized ground.
- General: [target-icon] For general detecting use.
- All-Terrain: [park-bench-icon] Suitable for parks, fields, and beaches with a lot of trash.
- Beach: [wave-icon] For dry sand, wet sand, surf, and underwater. Ideal for any high salinity ground conditions.
Not sure which mode to use? Start with 'General' or 'All-Terrain' for most situations.
Quick Start Guide
Follow these four simple steps to begin detecting:
- Step 1: Turn On [power-button-icon] Press the power button to turn on the detector.
- Step 2: Noise Cancel [signal-wave-icon] Perform noise cancellation to adapt to electromagnetic interference.
- Step 3: Search Mode [magnifying-glass-icon] Select your desired search mode based on your detecting environment.
- Step 4: Start Detecting [flag-icon] Begin your search!
Assembly
Assemble your Minelab Manticore detector:

- Connect the coil to the lower shaft.
- Connect the middle shaft to the lower shaft.
- Connect the control box to the middle shaft.
- Secure all connections using the cam locks.
- Adjust the shaft length to a comfortable position.
- Ensure all cam locks are tightened securely. If cam locks slip or loosen, tighten them. Check, and repeat if necessary.
Charging
Your Manticore detector requires charging before first use.

Charging Time: Approximately 7 to 8 hours for a full charge.
Important: Always use a quality USB charger with a charging specification of no less than 2A/5V to charge the detector. Using a low-quality USB charger may cause USB charging failure.
USB chargers should have the following certification marks: [ce-mark] [eac-mark] [intertek-mark]
Important: Only charge the detector within an ambient temperature range of 0°C to +40°C.
The charging status is indicated by an LED light.

Settings Menu
Access the settings menu by pressing the button on the detection screen.
Display Elements
- Charging Status LED: [led-indicator] Indicates battery charging status.
- Large Target Overload: [warning-icon] Appears when a very large target is detected.

- Target ID Number: [id-number-display] Shows the numerical identification of a detected target.
- Conductive Object ID: [conductive-id-display] Displays the conductivity value of a target.
- Conductive Object ID with Ferrous Target Indicator: [conductive-id-ferrous-indicator] Shows conductivity and indicates if the target is ferrous.
- Salt Indicator (Beach Mode only): [salt-icon] Displays ground mineralization level in Beach mode.
- Target Depth Indicator: [depth-icon] Estimates the depth of the detected target.
- Target ID Graph: [graph-icon] Visual representation of target conductivity and ferrous properties.
- Ferrous Limit: [ferrous-limit-indicator] Threshold for identifying ferrous targets.
- Target Trace: [trace-icon] Shows the target's location and shape (e.g., nail, coin).
Control Buttons
- Power Button: [power-icon] Turns the detector on/off.
- Back Button: [back-arrow-icon] Returns to the previous screen or menu.
- Pinpoint Button: [pinpoint-icon] Activates the pinpoint mode for precise target location.

- Sensitivity Adjustment: Use the Left/Right arrow buttons (◀/▶) on the detection screen to adjust sensitivity.
