Assembly
- Attach the armrest to the upper shaft. [assembly diagram]
- Connect the control housing to the upper shaft. [assembly diagram]
- Connect the battery to the upper shaft. [assembly diagram]
- Attach the lower shaft to the coil. [assembly diagram]
- Attach the upper shaft to the lower shaft. [assembly diagram]
- Wrap the coil cable. [assembly diagram]

Quick Start
Discriminate Mode
For detecting non-ferrous metals.
- Set the switch to Disc (Discriminate) mode. [Discriminate mode switch]
- Turn on the detector by turning the Threshold control clockwise until it clicks. Continue turning until the audio tone is heard. [Turn Threshold knob clockwise]
- Adjust the Discrimination control to the desired position. [Adjust Discrimination knob]
- Set the Sensitivity Control to Auto or the maximum manual setting without electrical interference. [Adjust Sensitivity knob]
- Start detecting. [Begin detection]
Pinpoint / All Metals Mode
For detecting all types of metals.
- Set the switch to Pinpoint / All Metals mode. [Pinpoint/All Metals switch]
- Turn on the detector by turning the Threshold control clockwise until it clicks. Continue turning until the audio tone is heard. [Turn Threshold knob clockwise]
- Set the Sensitivity Control to Auto or the maximum manual setting without electrical interference. [Adjust Sensitivity knob]
- Start detecting. [Begin detection]

Battery
Low Battery Alarm
When the battery level is very low, the Threshold tone will gradually increase to a strong continuous signal. [Low battery warning tone]
Charging
The Excalibur II is supplied with an adapter plug and a wall socket charger. The charger will charge the batteries from local mains sockets (AC).
