Installation Guide

Step 1: Prepare the Door & Check Dimensions

1. Ensure the hole in the door is 2-1/8" (54mm) and the hole in the door edge is 1" (25mm).
2. Verify the backset is either 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (60mm or 70mm).
3. Confirm the door thickness is between 1-3/8" and 2" (35mm to 50mm).
4. NOTE: Ensure the door frame is aligned with the door and free of obstructions.

Two Installation Methods

Method 1: For Doors with a Single Hole

This method applies to doors with a single bore hole, replacing an existing handle or knob.

Method 2: For Doors with Two Holes

This method is for doors with separate deadbolt and handle holes. Ensure the distance between the top of the deadbolt and the center of the handle hole is at least 4.65" (118mm).

If this installation method does not fit your door, consider these alternatives:

• A. Remove the existing deadbolt, cover the hole with a Door Hole Cover Plate (not included), and install the Veise lock.
• B. Remove the existing handle, lower the deadbolt, and install the Veise lock above it. Ensure there is at least 1.57" (40mm) vertical space between the top of the deadbolt and the bottom of the new lock's exterior assembly.

Step 2: Install the Latch & Strike

1. Confirm the backset and adjust the Latch. The Latch is adjustable for 2-3/8" (60mm) or 2-3/4" (70mm) backsets. Ensure the square spindle is oriented correctly (checkmark symbol).
2. Install the Latch into the door edge, ensuring the correct orientation for the direction the door opens (Chiseled for opening outwards, Not Chiseled for opening inwards).
3. Install the Strike plate (D) onto the door frame using Strike Screws (H). Ensure the hole in the door frame is drilled at least 1" (25mm) deep.

Step 3: Install Exterior Assembly

1. Route the cable from the exterior assembly above the latch. Insert the Torque Blade through the slot in the latch. Do not insert the Mechanical Key (A) into the cylinder during this step.
2. Install the Mounting Plate (E) using the Mounting Plate Screws (J). Ensure the plate is parallel to the door edge. Do not overtighten the screws.

Step 4: Install Interior Assembly

1. Disassemble the Battery Cover (Battery Cover G).
2. Connect the cable from the exterior assembly to the socket on the interior assembly. Ensure the connection is secure. Tuck excess cable into the socket to avoid obstructing screw holes or the battery cover.
3. Attach the Interior Assembly (F) to the Mounting Plate (E) and secure it with four Interior Assembly Screws (K). Be careful not to use the wrong screws, as this could cause a short circuit.
4. Insert four new, non-rechargeable AA alkaline batteries into the battery compartment. Do not mix old and new batteries or different brands.
5. Replace the Battery Cover.
6. Attach the Interior Knob (G) to the Interior Assembly and tighten the Knob Screw (L) with a screwdriver.

How to Reset

1. Keep the door open and unlocked.
2. Using the Reset Tool (M), press and hold the Reset Button (located on the interior assembly) for 5 seconds.
3. Continue holding the Reset Button until you hear the voice prompt "Restored to factory settings".

Troubleshooting

Fail to reset.

1. Low Battery: If the battery indicator light flashes continuously, replace all batteries with 4 new alkaline batteries.
2. Reset Procedure: Please refer to the "How to Reset" section and repeat the resetting process.

How to lock manually on the Keypad from outside?

1. Touch the keypad once.
2. Press and hold any button for 2 seconds.
3. Use your Fingerprint (if applicable).

How to lock manually from inside?

1. Press the Lock Button located above the Interior Knob. A "Door locked" sound will confirm the action.
2. In this locked state, the door cannot be unlocked from the outside by turning the knob. To unlock, turn the Interior Knob left or right once.

• Do not use an electric screwdriver during installation.
• Veise advises that no lock can provide complete security by itself.
• This lock may be defeated by forcible or technical means, or evaded by entry elsewhere on the property.
• No lock can substitute for caution, awareness of your environment, and common sense.
• To ensure a long-lasting finish, use a soft and damp cloth to clean the lockset. Using lacquer thinner, caustic soaps, abrasive cleaners, or polishes could damage the coating and result in tarnishing.
• The lock is water-resistant and can withstand water splashes; however, do not let water and liquids get into the lock.
• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, as long-term exposure may damage the lock.
