7. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- 1. How do I turn on the camera?
As soon as the camera has power, it turns on automatically and checks the gimbal rings itself. There is no "On" indicator on the camera. You can cover the light detector to simulate night mode and check if the infrared LED lights up. If it does, the camera is properly powered.
- 2. How can I restore the camera's password?
If you have forgotten the password, you must reset the camera to factory settings and reset the camera.
- 3. How can I reset the camera to factory settings?
If the camera is connected online, find the reset option in the mobile app or PC software to reset the camera. If the camera is offline, you can press and hold the reset button on the camera's socket row for 15-20 seconds to reset the camera.
- 4. How can I delete videos on the TF card?
If the TF card is full, the camera automatically deletes the original recordings on the TF card. If you wish to delete videos manually, you can access the Ctronics pro APP TF card settings and format the TF card.
- 5. The time displayed on the recorded video is incorrect. What is the difference from the actual recording time?
The camera's timezone is GMT+8 by default. Please enter the camera's time settings and select the correct timezone for your camera. If you have daylight saving time, please enable it. Don't forget to check the changes after selecting the new timezone. The camera will restart to obtain the correct time.
- 6. The alarm recording lasts only 15 seconds. How can I change the length of the alarm video?
The length of the alarm video is fixed at 15 seconds and cannot be changed. If the camera continues to detect motion after the 15 seconds have elapsed, a new recording will start. If the action lasts longer than 15 seconds, multiple recordings will be made.
- 7. The alarm notification is enabled, but when motion is detected, my smartphone still cannot receive the notification.
This can happen with Android phones because the Android system closes background applications to save battery. Therefore, if the app is closed, it can no longer send notifications. You can change the battery management/battery optimization settings on your Android phone to allow the Ctronics application to run in the background.
- 8. I access the TF card and get the recorded video, but I cannot play the recorded video on the computer.
The recorded video is in H264 format, a format developed by Ctronics. You can download the "HiPlayer" software from the Ctronics website to play the video. You can also download the "FileConverter" software to convert the video from H264 to AVI, or use the HIP2P client directly to watch the video.
