Diagram Description
The fixture diagram illustrates the assembly of the lighting fixture. Key components include the Canopy [A], Lockup Knob [B], Hex Nuts [C] (labeled #1, #2, #3), Mounting Strap [D], Outlet Box [E] (not supplied), Strap Mounting Screws [F], Threaded Pipe [G], and Glass [H]. The diagram shows how the threaded pipe [G] attaches to the mounting strap [D] using hex nuts [C].
Grounding instructions are depicted in two scenarios: (a) for mounting straps with raised dimples, where the ground wire is wrapped around the green ground screw; and (b) for straps with a cupped washer, where the ground wire is secured under the washer and screw.
Installation Instructions
- Take the threaded pipe [G] from the parts bag and screw one hex nut [C] onto it.
- Screw the threaded pipe into the mounting strap [D] until the hex nut stops it. Ensure the extruded thread of the mounting strap faces the outlet box [E].
- Screw a second hex nut [C] onto the end of the threaded pipe protruding from the back of the mounting strap. Adjust the first hex nut if necessary to ensure the second hex nut fully engages the pipe.
- Screw a third hex nut [C] onto the threaded pipe, approximately 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) from the end.
- Attach the mounting strap [D] to the outlet box [E] using the strap mounting screws [F]. The strap can be adjusted for fixture position.
- Grounding Instructions (for USA):
- If the mounting strap has a hole and two raised dimples: Wrap the outlet box ground wire around the green ground screw and thread it into the hole.
- If a cupped washer is provided: Attach the outlet box ground wire under the cupped washer and the green ground screw, then thread it into the mounting strap.
- Make Wire Connections:
Connect Black or Red Supply Wire to: Connect White Supply Wire to: Black White *Parallel cord (round & smooth) *Parallel cord (square & ridged) Clear, Brown, Gold or Black without Tracer Clear, Brown, Gold or Black with Tracer Insulated wire (other than green) with copper conductor Insulated wire (other than green) with silver conductor *Note: When using parallel wire (SPT 1 & SPT 2), the neutral wire is square-shaped or ridged, and the other wire will be round or smooth.
Connect the fixture's ground wire to the outlet box's ground wire using a wire connector. This is the "Neutral Wire" connection.
- Raise the canopy [A] to the ceiling, passing the threaded pipe through the center hole. Adjust the third hex nut [C] so it meets the bottom of the canopy.
- While holding the canopy in place, screw the lockup knob [B] onto the threads protruding through the canopy's center hole. Tighten to secure.
- Install recommended bulbs (not supplied).
- Carefully lift the glass [H] up to the installed canopy. Gently push the glass against the canopy and rotate it clockwise until it locks into place.
