Assembly Instructions
Step 1: Prepare Mounting Components
Screw threaded pipe (J) onto coupling (F). Screw fixture loop (L) onto threaded pipe (J).
Diagram Description: Shows threaded pipe (J) being screwed into coupling (F), and fixture loop (L) being screwed onto the top of threaded pipe (J).
Step 2 & 3: Position and Secure Mounting Bracket
Position threaded nipple (C) in mounting bracket (B). Ensure the threaded nipple (C) will protrude a minimum of 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) beyond the raised center portion of the mounting bracket (B). Position the threaded nipple (C) so that half the exterior threads of the screw collar loop (I) will extend past the canopy (A) when it is mounted. The canopy (A) is only used to determine this position and will be installed later.
Once the correct position is determined, secure the threaded nipple (C) to the mounting bracket (B) using three hex nuts (D):
- Screw one hex nut (D) onto the threaded nipple (C) and tighten it against the raised portion of the mounting bracket (B).
- Screw a second hex nut (D) onto the threaded nipple (C) and tighten it against the flat portion of the mounting bracket (B).
- Screw the third hex nut (D) onto the threaded nipple (C) and tighten it against the screw collar loop (I).
Diagram Description: Illustrates positioning the threaded nipple (C) within the mounting bracket (B) and securing it with hex nuts (D) to achieve specific thread protrusions.
Step 4: Attach Mounting Bracket to Outlet Box
Connect the mounting bracket (B) to the outlet box using two short machine screws (BB).
Diagram Description: Shows the assembled mounting bracket (B) with the threaded nipple (C) attached, being screwed into an electrical outlet box using short machine screws (BB).
Step 5: Install Chain and Canopy
Thread the chain (K) through the screw collar ring (H) and the canopy (A). Using the threaded chain links (P) on the chain (K), attach one end to the screw collar loop (I) and the other end to the upper fixture loop (L). Weave the fixture's electrical and ground wires through every other chain link. Pass the wires through the threaded nipple (C) into the outlet box. Lower the screw collar ring (H) and canopy (A) over the chain (K).
Diagram Description: Shows the chain (K) being threaded through the canopy (A) and screw collar ring (H). One end of the chain is attached to the screw collar loop (I), and the other to the fixture loop (L). Wires are passed through the chain and nipple.
Step 6: Make Electrical Connections
Wire connection guide:
Ground wire:
- For installation in the United States: Wrap the ground wire from the outlet box around the ground screw pre-assembled on the mounting bracket (B), no less than 2 inches (5.08 cm) from the wire end. Tighten the ground screw. If the fixture is supplied with a ground wire, connect it to the outlet ground wire with a wire connector (AA).
- For installation in Canada: If the fixture is supplied with a ground wire, wrap the ground wire around the ground screw on the mounting bracket (B). Tighten the ground screw. Connect the fixture ground wire to the outlet ground wire with the wire connector (AA).
Supply wires:
- Connect the Neutral (White) supply wire from the outlet box to the Neutral fixture wire (White or Parallel Cord "D" shaped and ribbed).
- Connect the Hot (Black) supply wire from the outlet box to the Hot fixture wire (Black or Parallel Cord round and smooth).
Note: Fixture wires will either be: Black and White, or Parallel Cord SPT-1 lamp wire with one round smooth wire and one "D" shaped ribbed wire.
Diagram Description: Illustrates wire connections. Shows bare copper or green ground wire from outlet box connected to ground screw on bracket (B) and/or fixture ground wire with wire connector (AA). Shows black supply wire connected to black fixture wire, and white supply wire connected to white fixture wire. Differentiates between round/smooth and D-shaped/ribbed wires.
Step 7: Secure Canopy
Pass the canopy (A) over the screw collar loop (I). Attach the screw collar ring (H) to the screw collar loop (I) to secure the canopy (A).
Diagram Description: Shows the canopy (A) being slid over the screw collar loop (I), and then the screw collar ring (H) being tightened onto the screw collar loop (I) to hold the canopy in place.
Step 8: Attach Arms and Cage Rings
Secure the arms (N) to the coupling (F) using a coupling screw (CC). Raise the cage rings (O) to the arms (N). Pass an arm screw (DD) through the cage ring (O) and secure it with an arm knob (EE).
Diagram Description: Shows arms (N) being attached to the coupling (F) with coupling screws (CC). Cage rings (O) are then positioned on the arms, and secured with arm screws (DD) and arm knobs (EE).
Step 9: Install Shade
Pass the shade (G) over the socket (E) and secure it with the socket ring (M).
Diagram Description: Shows the shade (G) being placed over the socket (E) and then secured by screwing the socket ring (M) onto the socket.
Step 10: Install Bulb
Insert a 60-watt maximum medium base bulb or LED equivalent (not included) into the socket (E).
Diagram Description: Shows a bulb being screwed into the socket (E).
