The diagram illustrates the assembly of a lighting fixture. Key components include: Mounting Strap [A], Mounting Screw [B], Outlet Box [C] (not supplied), Strap Mounting Screw [D], Lock Washer [E], Knob [F], Canopy [G], Glass Shade [H], and Socket [I]. The diagram shows how the mounting strap attaches to the outlet box, how the canopy covers these connections, and how the glass shade is secured to the socket and canopy. It also includes visual aids for grounding connections.
Grounding Illustration Descriptions:
- Illustration a: Depicts grounding for fixtures with a mounting strap featuring a hole and two raised dimples. The outlet box ground wire is wrapped around a green ground screw and secured.
- Illustration b: Depicts grounding for fixtures using a cupped washer. The outlet box ground wire is attached under the cupped washer and green ground screw before being secured.
The instructions emphasize connecting the fixture's ground wire to the outlet box ground wire, never to the power supply wires.

Safety Precautions
CAUTION – RISK OF SHOCK: Disconnect power at the main circuit breaker panel or main fuse box before starting and during the installation.
WARNING: This fixture is intended for installation in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all local code specifications. If you are not familiar with code requirements, installation by a certified electrician is recommended. Failure to adhere to these codes and instructions may result in serious injury and/or property damage and will void the warranty.
CLEANING:
- Always ensure that electric current is turned off before cleaning.
- Use only a soft damp cloth. Harsh cleaning products may damage the finish.
Installation Instructions
- Find the appropriate threaded holes on the mounting strap [A] that align with the hole distance in the canopy [G]. Screw mounting screws [B] into the threaded holes, starting from the outlet box side.
- Attach the mounting strap [A] to the outlet box [C] using the strap mounting screws [D]. The mounting strap can be adjusted to suit the position of the fixture.
- Grounding Instructions (for USA):
- For straps with dimples: Wrap the outlet box ground wire around the green ground screw and thread into the hole.
- For straps with a cupped washer: Attach the outlet box ground wire under the cupped washer and green ground screw, then thread into the mounting strap.
- If the fixture is provided with a ground wire, connect the fixture ground wire to the outlet box ground wire with a wire connector after following the above steps. Never connect the ground wire to black or white power supply wires.
- Make Wire Connections: Reference the chart below for correct connections.
Connect Black or Red Supply Wire to: Connect White Supply Wire to: Black White *Parallel cord (round & smooth) *Parallel cord (square & ridged) Clear, Brown, Gold or Black without Tracer Clear, Brown, Gold or Black with Tracer Insulated wire (other than green) with copper conductor Insulated wire (other than green) with silver conductor *Note: When parallel wire (SPT 1 & SPT 2) is used, the neutral wire is square shaped or ridged, and the other wire will be round in shape or smooth.
Neutral Wire: Connect to the neutral wire (typically white or silver conductor).
- Raise the canopy [G] to the ceiling, carefully passing the mounting screws [B] through the mounting screw holes in the canopy. NOTE: Make sure wires do not get pinched between the mounting strap and canopy, or canopy and ceiling.
- While holding the canopy in place, use lock washers [E] and knobs [F] to secure the canopy to the ceiling. Tighten to secure.
- Insert the recommended bulb (not supplied).
- Carefully raise the glass shade [H] up to the fixture. Pass the opening in the glass shade over the bulb and socket [I]. Carefully raise and turn the glass shade clockwise into the canopy [G] until it is locked in place to secure. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN.
