Read this important information first

Battery

  • If you notice signs of low power (dim display or no backlight), replace the battery at an authorized CASIO dealer or distributor. The battery included with your watch is for testing purposes and may have a shorter service life than a standard battery.

Water Protection

Watches are classified by water resistance rating (I to V). Refer to the table below to determine usage rules for your watch.

Marking on CaseSplashes, Rain, etc.Car Washing, etc.Swimming, Diving, etc.Scuba Diving
INoNoNoNo
II WATER RESISTANTYesNoNoNo
III 50M WATER RESISTANTYesYesNoNo
IV 100M WATER RESISTANTYesYesYesNo
V 200M WATER RESISTANTYesYesYesYes
300M WATER RESISTANTYesYesYesYes

Notes for respective sections:

  1. I: The watch is not water-resistant. Avoid all contact with moisture.
  2. III: If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly and dry it.
  3. IV: If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly and dry it.
  4. V: The watch can be used for scuba diving (except for depths requiring a helium-oxygen mixture).

ATTENTION!!!

For all types of watches, it is prohibited to:

  • press buttons underwater
  • set hands underwater
  • unscrew the crown underwater

Watch Care

  • Some water-resistant watches feature leather straps. Do not wear these watches while swimming or engaging in any activity where the strap may be submerged in water.
  • The rubber gasket that protects the watch from water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years.
  • If moisture enters the watch, have it checked immediately by your nearest CASIO dealer or distributor.
  • Do not expose the watch to extreme high or low temperatures.
  • Although the watch is designed for normal use, avoid rough handling and do not drop it.
  • Do not fasten the strap too tightly. A finger should fit between your wrist and the strap.
  • To clean the watch and strap, use a dry soft cloth, or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile substances (e.g., gasoline, solvents, aerosol cleaning agents, etc.).
  • When not wearing your watch, store it in a dry place.
  • Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, aerosol sprays, adhesives, paint, etc. Chemical reactions caused by these materials can damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's finish.
  • Some watch models have silk-screened designs on their straps. Be careful when cleaning such straps to avoid damaging the designs.

For watches with resin bands...

  • You may notice a white powdery substance on the strap. This substance is harmless to your skin or clothing and can be easily removed by wiping with a soft cloth.
  • Sweat or moisture on the resin strap, or storing it in humid conditions, can lead to damage, tearing, or cracking. To ensure a long service life for the resin strap, wipe it clean of dirt and water with a soft cloth as often as possible.

For watches with fluorescent cases and bands...

  • Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the fluorescent color to fade gradually. Ensure the fluorescent surface is dry and avoid contact with other surfaces.
  • Rubbing a surface with fluorescent paint against another surface can transfer the fluorescent paint to that surface.

This watch automatically corrects the time based on a calibration signal. However, you can also set the time manually.

Before using the watch, set your current city code.

In Timekeeping Mode, press button 'C' to cycle through the display of current time, day of the week, and month/date.

Calibration Signal

This watch receives a calibration signal and updates the time accordingly.

Signal transmission centers are located in Germany (25km from Frankfurt) and Rugby, England. The signal covers a radius of 1500km. The signal may be weak beyond 500km.

Transmission centers are also located in Fort Collins, USA, and in Japan (Hagane, Otakadoya). The signal covers a radius of 1000km. The signal may be weak beyond 500km.

The transmitted signal is also affected by natural conditions, atmospheric pressure, and temperature. Signal weakening can also be influenced by the following factors: being near a TV, computer, or home appliance; being in a subway or tunnel; being at an airport, train station, or high-speed road; proximity to radio or signal transmission stations; electrostatic interference.

Signal Reception

There are two types of calibration signal reception. With auto-calibration enabled, the watch automatically receives the signal five times daily and corrects the time.

With forced calibration enabled, you manually initiate signal reception by pressing a button:

  1. Hold your watch horizontally.
  2. In Timekeeping Mode, press and hold button 'C' for two seconds until you hear a beep and the 'RC' indicator appears, signifying the start of signal reception.

  4. Upon completion of signal reception, the watch will display the data from the last reception.

To stop the signal reception process and return to Timekeeping Mode, press button 'C'.

If signal reception fails, the display will show 'ERR'. The watch will then automatically return to Timekeeping Mode.

You can also return to Timekeeping Mode by pressing button 'D'.

Auto-Calibration Signal

With auto-calibration enabled, the watch automatically receives the signal five times (during the night or early morning).

Auto-calibration only occurs when the watch is in Timekeeping Mode.

Signal reception lasts up to 14 minutes. Be careful not to move your watch during reception.

Turning Auto-Calibration On/Off

If none of the recent signal receptions were successful, the display shows '- - -'.

Signal Reception Indicator

This indicator shows the signal reception strength.

The indicator is fully displayed when the watch is positioned for optimal signal reception. Try to position the watch for successful reception whenever possible, free from interference.

It takes about 10 seconds for the watch to establish the signal reception strength shown on the indicator.

Backlight

  • In any mode, press button 'A' to turn on the backlight.
  • During illumination, the watch may emit a faint sound. This is due to the vibration of the illumination element and does not indicate a malfunction.
  • The backlight may be difficult to see in direct sunlight.
  • Frequent use of the backlight shortens battery life.

POWER SUPPLY

This watch is equipped with a solar cell and a rechargeable battery powered by the solar cell. If your watch is kept in the dark for extended periods, the rechargeable battery will discharge.

Battery Charge Indicator

The battery charge indicator is located at the top of the display.

  • If the indicator is not displayed, the battery is fully discharged. Place your watch in a well-lit area.
  • Be careful not to leave your watch in direct sunlight for extended periods, as this may cause malfunctions.
  • If the backlight or sound signal is used frequently, the 'R' indicator may appear on the display, indicating that the battery needs charging.

Charging the Power Cell

After a full charge, normal operation is maintained for approximately 9 months under the following conditions:

  • Watch is not exposed to sunlight
  • 6 calibration signals per day
  • Backlight used for 1.5 seconds/day
  • Sound signal used for 10 seconds/day
