Battery
If you notice signs of insufficient power (dim display or no backlight), replace the battery at an authorized CASIO dealer. The battery included in your watch is for test purposes and may have a shorter lifespan than a standard battery.
Water Protection
Watches are classified by water resistance levels (from I to V). Refer to the table below to determine usage rules for your watch.
Marking on Case | Splashes, Rain, Car Washing, etc. | Swimming, Diving | Underwater Swimming, Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|
I | No | No | No |
II | Yes | No | No |
III | Yes | Yes | No |
IV | Yes | Yes | Yes |
V | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes for respective sections:
- I: The watch is not water-resistant. Avoid any moisture.
- III: If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly and dry it.
- IV: If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly and dry it.
- V: The watch can be used for scuba diving (except for depths requiring helium-oxygen mixtures).
WARNING!!! For all categories of watches, do not:
- Press buttons underwater.
- Set hands underwater.
- Unscrew the crown underwater.
Watch Care
General Care:
- Replace the rubber gasket that protects the watch from water and dust every 2-3 years.
- If water enters the watch, have it checked immediately by an authorized CASIO dealer.
- Do not expose the watch to extremely high or low temperatures.
- While the watch is designed for normal use, avoid rough handling and dropping it.
- Do not fasten the strap too tightly. A finger should fit between your wrist and the strap.
- To clean the watch and strap, use a dry soft cloth or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile substances like gasoline, solvents, spray cleaners, etc.
- When not using your watch, store it in a dry place.
- Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, spray aerosols, adhesives, paint, etc. Chemical reactions caused by these materials can damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's finish.
- Some models have silk-screened patterns on their straps. Clean these straps carefully to avoid damaging the designs.
For watches with resin straps:
- You may notice a white powdery substance on the strap. This substance is harmless to your skin or clothing and can be easily removed by wiping with a soft cloth.
- Sweat or moisture, and storage in high humidity conditions can lead to strap damage, tearing, or cracking. To ensure a long service life for the resin strap, wipe it clean of dirt and moisture with a soft cloth as often as possible.
For watches with fluorescent cases and straps:
- Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade.
- Prolonged contact with moisture can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade. If any moisture gets onto the watch surface, wipe it off as soon as possible.
- Prolonged contact with a moist surface can lead to fading of the fluorescent color. Ensure there is no moisture on the fluorescent surface and avoid contact with other surfaces.
- Heavy friction on a surface with fluorescent paint can transfer the fluorescent paint to that surface.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur from the use of this watch and does not accept claims from third parties.
General Description of Operating Modes
The illustration shows a general view of the watch in the Timekeeping Mode.
Pressing the "C" button sequentially cycles through the modes: Timekeeping Mode → World Time Mode → Alarm Mode → Timekeeping Mode.
Pressing button "D" or "B" in Timekeeping Mode allows you to switch to Stopwatch Mode. To return to Timekeeping Mode, press button "D" (provided the stopwatch time has been reset to zero).
Pressing button "A" in Timekeeping Mode allows you to view the Last Signal Reception Data display.
Pressing and holding button "A" for 2 seconds allows you to enter the manual calibration mode.
Pressing and holding button "A" for 5 seconds allows you to enter the broadcast time zone setting mode, as well as adjust the time/date.
Calibration
This watch automatically corrects its time based on the calibration signal. However, you can also set the time manually.
Setting your current location's city:
- In Timekeeping Mode, press and hold button "A" until you hear two beeps.
- The second hand will move to the code of your current location city and stop there.
- Use button "D" to select your current location city. The watch hands will move to the time of the selected city, and the date on the display will also change accordingly.
- Do not press any buttons while the hands are moving.
Calibration Signal:
This watch receives a calibration signal and updates its time accordingly.
- In Europe, signal transmitters are located in Mainflingen, Germany, and Anthorn, England. The signal range is approximately 500 km. The signal may be weak at distances over 1,500 km.
- In the United States, the signal transmitter is located in Fort Collins. The signal range is approximately 1,000 km. The signal may be weak at distances over 3,000 km.
- In Japan, signal transmitters are located in Fukushima and Fukuoka/Saga. The signal range is approximately 500 km. The signal may be weak at distances over 1,000 km.
- The broadcast signal is also affected by natural conditions, atmospheric pressure, and temperature. Signal weakening can also be caused by:
- The watch being near a TV, computer, or household appliance.
- Being in a subway or tunnel.
- Being in an airport, train station, or high-speed roadway.
- Proximity to radio or signal transmission stations.
- Electrostatic voltage.
There are two types of calibration signal reception. With auto-calibration enabled, the watch automatically receives the signal six times each day and corrects the time. With manual calibration enabled, you press a button to receive the signal:
- Place your watch horizontally.
- In Timekeeping Mode, press and hold button "A" for two seconds until you hear a beep.
Manual Calibration (Continued)
The stopwatch second hand will first move to the R (READY) position, indicating the watch is preparing to receive the signal, and then to the W (WORK) position, indicating signal reception is in progress.
If the calibration signal is unstable, the stopwatch second hand will move between the R and W positions.
Signal reception lasts up to 14 minutes. Be careful not to move your watch during reception.
Upon completion of signal reception, the stopwatch second hand will move to the Y (YES) position.
To stop the signal reception process and return to Timekeeping Mode, press any button.
If signal reception was unsuccessful, the second hand will move to the N (NO) position. The watch will then automatically return to Timekeeping Mode. You can also return to Timekeeping Mode at any time by pressing any button.
Auto-Calibration
When near any of the signal centers, the watch automatically receives the signal six times (during the night or early morning).
Auto-calibration only occurs when the watch is in Timekeeping or World Time modes.
Signal reception lasts up to 14 minutes. Be careful not to move your watch during reception.
Viewing Last Signal Reception Data
In Timekeeping Mode, press button "A" to view the last signal reception data.
- If reception was successful since midnight, the second hand will move to Y (YES); if unsuccessful, to N (NO).
- After 5 seconds, the watch will automatically return to Timekeeping Mode.
- If you manually adjusted the time and date, the second hand will move to N (NO).
