If you notice signs of insufficient power (dim display or no backlight), replace the battery at your nearest CASIO dealer or distributor. The battery included in your watch is a test battery, so its service life may be shorter than a standard battery.

Water Resistance

Watches are classified by their water resistance level (from I to V). Refer to the table below to determine the rules for their use.

IV. If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it.

Care for Your Watch

The rubber gasket that protects the watch from water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years. If water enters the watch, have it checked immediately by your nearest CASIO dealer or distributor. Do not expose the watch to extremely high or low temperatures. Although the watch is designed for normal use, avoid rough handling and do not drop it. Do not wear the strap too tightly. There should be space for a finger between your wrist and the strap. To clean the watch and strap, use a dry soft cloth, or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile substances (such as gasoline, solvents, spray cleaners, etc.). When not using your watch, store it in a dry place. Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, spray aerosols, adhesives, paints, etc. Chemical reactions caused by these materials can damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's finish. Some watch models have silk-screened designs on their straps. Be careful when cleaning such straps to avoid damaging the designs.

For Watches with Polymer Straps...

You may notice a white powdery substance on the strap. This substance is harmless to your skin or clothing and can be easily removed by wiping with a soft cloth. Sweat or moisture on a polymer strap, or storage in high humidity conditions, can lead to damage, tearing, or cracking of the strap. To ensure a long service life for the polymer strap, wipe it clean of dirt and water with a soft cloth as often as possible.

For Watches with Fluorescent Cases and Straps...

Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade. Prolonged contact with moisture may cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade. If any moisture gets onto the watch surface, wipe it off as soon as possible. Strong friction on a surface with fluorescent paint may cause the fluorescent paint to transfer to the other surface.

CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur from the use of this watch and does not accept any claims from third parties.

General Description of Operating Modes

Watch Face Diagram

The illustration shows a general view of the watch in the Timekeeping Mode. Pressing button "B" sequentially cycles through the modes in the following order: Timekeeping Mode – Battery Charge Mode – Dual Time Mode – Alarm Mode – Stopwatch Mode – Analog Time Mode – Calibration Mode – Timekeeping Mode. Press button "A" to activate the backlight in any mode.

Calibration

This watch automatically corrects its time based on calibration signals. However, you can also set the time manually. Before using the watch, set your current city code. In Timekeeping Mode, press button "C" to cycle through the display of current time, day of the week, and month/date.

Radio Wave Reception

This watch receives calibration signals and updates its time accordingly. The signal transmission centers are located in Germany (25 km from Frankfurt) and Rugby, England. The signal covers a radius of 1500 km. The signal may be weak at distances over 500 km. Transmission centers are also located in Fort Collins, USA, and in Japan (Hagane, Otakadoya). The signal covers a radius of 1000 km. The signal may be weak at distances over 500 km. The transmitted signal is also affected by weather conditions, atmospheric pressure, and temperature. Signal weakening can also be caused by the following factors: being near a TV, computer, or household appliances; being in a subway or tunnel; being at an airport, train station, or high-speed road; proximity to radio stations or signal transmission stations; electrostatic discharge. There are two types of calibration signal reception. When auto-calibration is enabled, the watch automatically receives the signal five times daily and corrects the time. For forced calibration, you manually press a button to receive the signal: 1. Position your watch horizontally. 2. In Timekeeping Mode, press and hold button "C" for two seconds until a beep sounds and the "RC" indicator appears, signifying the start of signal reception. 3. Signal reception lasts up to 14 minutes. Do not move your watch during signal reception. 4. Upon completion of reception, the watch display will show the data of the last reception. To stop the signal reception process and return to Timekeeping Mode, press button "C". If signal reception fails, the display will show "ERR". The watch will then automatically return to Timekeeping Mode. You can also return to Timekeeping Mode by pressing button "D".

Auto-Calibration Signal

When the auto-calibration signal is enabled, the watch automatically receives the signal five times (during the night or early morning). Auto-calibration only occurs when the watch is in Timekeeping Mode. Signal reception lasts up to 14 minutes. Do not move your watch during signal reception.

Enabling/Disabling Auto-Calibration Signal

  1. In Calibration Mode, press and hold button "A" for 3 seconds until the "R/C" or "C/R" indicator appears.
  2. Press button "C" to enable (indicator "R/C On") or disable ("R/C Off") the auto-calibration signal.
  3. Press button "A" to confirm the settings.

Viewing Last Signal Reception Data

When you enter Calibration Mode, the display shows the data of the last signal reception. If none of the recent signal receptions were successful, the display will show "- - -".

Signal Reception Indicator

This indicator shows the signal reception strength. When the watch is positioned for successful signal reception, the indicator will be fully displayed. Try to position your watch for successful signal reception whenever possible, avoiding interference. It takes about 10 seconds for the watch to establish the signal reception frequency shown on the indicator.

Alarm Mode

Other Functions

Analog Time Mode

The analog time is automatically synchronized with the digital time. If synchronization does not occur, perform the following steps: 1. In Analog Time Mode, press and hold button "A" for 3 seconds until the current time display flashes. 2. Use button "C" to adjust the hours and minutes. Each press of button "C" advances the time by 10 seconds. Pressing button "D" allows for faster adjustment.

Backlight

Press button "A" in any mode to turn on the backlight. When the display is illuminated, the watch emits an audible beep. This is due to the vibration of the illumination elements and is not an indication of malfunction. The backlight may be difficult to see if direct sunlight is falling on the watch. Frequent use of the backlight will shorten battery life.

Power Supply

This watch is equipped with a solar battery and a backup battery powered by the solar battery. If your watch is kept away from light for extended periods, the backup battery charge will decrease. The battery charge level indicator is located at the top of the display. If the indicator is not displayed, the battery is fully discharged. Place your watch in a brightly lit area. Be careful not to expose your watch to direct sunlight for extended periods, as this may cause malfunctions. If you frequently use the backlight or alarm sounds, the "R" indicator will appear on the display, indicating that the battery is being recharged.

Charging the Battery

After a full charge, the watch will operate normally for approximately 9 months under the following conditions: the watch is not exposed to sunlight; 6 minutes of calibration per day; 1.5 seconds of backlight use per day; 10 seconds of alarm sound use per day. By exposing your watch to sunlight every day, you ensure continuous battery recharging.
