Important Information

General Care

To ensure the longevity of your watch, please observe the following precautions:

  • Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures.
  • Handle the watch with care; avoid rough handling or dropping it.
  • Do not overtighten the strap; ensure a finger can fit between your wrist and the strap.
  • Clean the watch and strap with a dry, soft cloth, or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile solvents like gasoline, thinners, spray cleaners, etc.
  • Store the watch in a dry place when not in use.
  • Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, spray aerosols, adhesives, paints, etc., as these can damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's finish.
  • If your watch strap features silk-screened graphics, be careful when cleaning to avoid damaging the designs.

Battery

The battery installed at the factory may be discharged during shipping and storage. If you notice signs of low power (e.g., dim display), replace the battery at your nearest authorized CASIO service center or dealer.

Water Resistance

General Rules:

  • Never press buttons underwater.
  • Never set the hands underwater.
  • Never unscrew the crown underwater.
  • If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it.
  • Do not wear a watch with a leather strap while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.

For watches with plastic straps:

  • A white powdery substance may appear on the strap. This is harmless and can be removed by wiping with a cloth.
  • Sweat or moisture on plastic straps, or storage in humid conditions, can cause damage, tearing, or cracking. Wipe the strap clean of dirt and water with a soft cloth whenever possible to ensure a long service life.

For watches with fluorescent cases and straps:

  • Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade.
  • Prolonged contact with moisture can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade. Wipe off any moisture as soon as possible.
  • Prolonged contact with other wet surfaces can cause discoloration. Ensure fluorescent surfaces are dry and avoid contact with other surfaces.

Water Resistance Classification

Watches are classified by water resistance levels (I to V). Refer to the table below to determine the correct usage for your watch.

Using the Crown

The crown on this watch is a screw-lock type. Before using the crown, you must pull it out to unlock it. After you finish operating the crown, push it in and screw it back in to lock it.

Warning: Always return the crown to its original position and lock it when not in use to prevent moisture ingress and damage to the crown.

The illustration below shows the basic operations of the crown:

  • To Unlock: Pull the crown outwards.
  • To Operate: With the crown pulled out, turn it.
  • To Lock: Push the crown in and screw it back in.

When you turn the crown to adjust the hands, you can move them at an accelerated speed. There are two levels of accelerated hand movement:

  • Level 1 Accelerated Hand Movement: After pulling out the crown, turn it away from you three times.
  • Level 2 Accelerated Hand Movement: After initiating Level 1, turn the crown away from you two more times.
  • To Stop Accelerated Hand Movement: Turn the crown towards you or press any button.

Note: If you do not perform any operation while the crown is pulled out, all crown operations will be locked after 2 minutes. To perform operations again, return the crown to its original position and then pull it out again.

You can use the accelerated hand movement to adjust values displayed by the watch hands when setting the time in Current Time, Alarm, Countdown Timer modes, or when correcting analog time.

Accelerated hand movement moves the hands clockwise only.

If the buttons do not respond after operating the crown, slightly turn the crown. This should restore button functionality.

Before You Start Using the Watch

  1. Press and hold button C for about 2 seconds to enter Current Time mode. Observe the movement of the second hand [2].
  2. Check the city code setting for your current location. Refer to the section "Setting Home City Code" for details.

Charging the Watch

This watch is powered by a solar panel and a rechargeable battery that is charged by light energy. If the watch is stored or worn in conditions where it is not exposed to light, the battery charge level will decrease. Try to expose the watch to a light source as often as possible for recharging.

Warning:

  • When not using the watch, leave it in a place accessible to light so the rechargeable battery can charge. Ensure the watch is exposed to light for as long as possible.
  • Your watch will continue to operate even when not exposed to bright light. Prolonged use in the dark will discharge the battery and may cause some functions to be disabled. To ensure normal operation, keep the watch exposed to bright light for as long as possible.

Checking Battery Charge Level

Remember that some watch functions will be unavailable if the battery charge is low. If the battery charge is low, place the watch in a well-lit area to charge.

  1. In Current Time mode, press button B. This will cause the second hand [2] to move to one of the indicators representing the current battery charge level: HIGH (H), MID (M), or LOW (L).
  2. Press button B again to return the second hand [2] to displaying the current time. The watch will also return to displaying the current time if no operations are performed for 1 second.

Battery Charge Level and Second Hand Movement

You can get information about the battery charge level by observing the second hand [2] movement in Current Time mode.

  • If the second hand [2] moves smoothly at 1-second intervals, the battery charge level is sufficient.
  • If the second hand [2] moves at 2-second intervals, the battery charge level is low. Place the watch in a well-lit area for charging as soon as possible.
  • If the second hand [2] does not move, all functions are off.
Charge Level Second Hand Movement Functions
1 Smoothly at 1-second intervals All functions operate.
2 Second hand [2] moves at 2-second intervals. Sound signals and radio-controlled time calibration do not operate.
3 Second hand [2] does not move. All functions are off.

When the charge drops to Level 3, all watch functions will be turned off. After recharging the battery, all watch settings (including current time) will return to their factory defaults.

After placing the watch in a light source for battery charging, the second hand [2] will move to the 57-second mark. This indicates that battery charging has begun.

Restoring Battery Charge

Frequent use of sound signals for short periods may cause the watch to enter an energy recovery mode. The watch will remain in this mode until the battery charge is restored. All watch functions will be inactive during this period.

It takes about 15 minutes for the battery charge to be restored. Once the battery charge is restored, the watch hands will set to the correct time, and normal watch operation will resume. Place the watch in a well-lit area for faster charge restoration.

Exiting Power Saving Mode

To exit power saving mode, perform one of the following actions:

  • Place the watch in a well-lit area.

Troubleshooting

Hand and Movement Issues

  • I cannot determine which mode the watch is currently in. Refer to the "Mode Overview" section. To return to Current Time mode from any mode, press and hold button C for about 2 seconds.
  • The second hand [2] moves with a 2-second interval. The battery charge is low. Place the watch in a well-lit area to charge the battery. Continue charging until the second hand [2] starts moving smoothly at 1-second intervals.
  • All watch hands are at the 12 o'clock position, and the watch buttons do not respond when pressed (the second hand [2] has stopped at the 57, 58, 59, or 00 position). The battery charge is low. Place the watch in a well-lit area to charge the battery.
  • The watch hands move in fast mode when I am not performing any operations. This may be due to one of the reasons described below. Fast hand movement does not indicate a malfunction of the watch.
  • The watch hands suddenly stopped moving, and the watch buttons do not respond when pressed. The watch may be in battery recovery mode. Do not perform any operations for about 15 minutes until the hands resume normal movement. The hands should return to displaying the current time and resume normal movement. Place the watch in a well-lit area for faster battery charge restoration.
  • The watch gains or loses an hour. You are using the watch in a location where the Daylight Saving Time transition differs from the setting of the Home City Code. For more information on switching from automatic (AT) Standard (STD)/Daylight Saving (DST) time switching to manual, refer to the section "Switching Between Standard and Daylight Saving Time Manually".
  • The watch shows the incorrect time and/or date. The watch may have been exposed to strong magnetic fields or shock. You need to perform the analog time correction procedure.

Charging Issues

  • The watch operation does not resume after placing it in a light source. This situation can occur when the battery charge level has dropped to Level 3. Continue to keep the watch in light for battery charging until the second hand [2] resumes smooth movement (at 1-second intervals).
  • The second hand [2] initially moved at 1-second intervals, and then started moving at 2-second intervals again. The watch is not sufficiently charged. Place the watch in light for further battery charging.

World Time Issues

  • The World Time display is incorrect. The time setting for the Home City Code is incorrect. Perform the correction for the Home City Code time.
  • The World Time is fast or slow by one hour. The Daylight Saving Time setting for the selected World Time City is incorrect. For more information, refer to the section "Setting Standard or Daylight Saving Time for Selected World Time City".

Alarm Issues

  • The alarm does not sound. The alarm signal is turned OFF. Turn the alarm signal ON. Check the alarm time setting – AM/PM. The battery charge level is too low. Place the watch in light to charge the battery. The watch crown may be pulled out. Return the watch crown to its original position.
