Important Safety Information
⚠️ Please pay special attention when using this test and measurement instrument. Improper usage may cause electric shock and damage the equipment.
- Use proper measurement category (CAT), voltage, and amperage rated probes, test leads, and adapters for the measurement.
- Do not use or store the device around explosive gas, vapor, or under high temperature and humidity.
- When handling test probes and crocodile clips, keep your fingers behind the physical guard.
- Examine the measuring test leads before use. If any part of the insulation is deteriorated (even partially), replace them with proper functional test leads.
- Connect the common test lead before the live test lead and remove the live test lead before the common test lead.
- Before measuring current, ensure the instrument has available fuses and disconnect the power supply to the circuit being tested.
- Remove batteries if the device is not used for an extended period or stored at temperatures above 45°C to prevent battery leakage damage.

Measurement Procedures
Battery Installation
To power the device, batteries must be installed. Open the battery compartment cover, insert the required batteries, and then securely close the cover.
Voltage Measurement (~VE)
To measure voltage:
- Connect the test leads to the appropriate terminals on the MS2302 (e.g., E and ~VE).
- Connect the other ends of the test leads to the circuit you wish to measure voltage from.
- The measured voltage will be displayed on the device screen.
Earth Resistance Measurement (2-Pole Method)
This method is used for measuring earth ground resistance.
- Connection: Connect the device's 'E' terminal to the earth ground electrode. Connect the device's 'P/S' or 'C/H' terminal to the same earth ground electrode.
- Measurement: Press the 'MEASURE' button. The device will display the earth resistance. The calculation shown is
RX = Re - re
, where 'Re' is the resistance of the earth electrode and 're' is the resistance of the test lead.
Diagram Description: Shows the device connected via two leads to a single earth ground point, often depicted with a house symbol and an earth rod.
Earth Resistance Measurement (3-Pole Method)
This method provides a more accurate measurement of earth ground resistance.
- Connection: Connect the device's 'E' terminal to the earth ground electrode. Connect the device's 'P/S' terminal to an auxiliary earth stake (P). Connect the device's 'C/H' terminal to a second auxiliary earth stake (C). Ensure the stakes are properly driven into the ground at appropriate distances.
- Measurement: Press the 'MEASURE' button. The device will display the earth resistance. The calculation shown is
RX = Re - re
, where 'Re' is the resistance of the earth electrode and 're' is the resistance of the test lead.
Diagram Description: Shows the device connected via three leads to the main earth ground electrode and two auxiliary earth stakes (P and C) driven into the ground.
