Safety Precautions
Important: Special attention should be paid when using this test and measurement instrument, as improper usage may cause electric shock and damage the equipment.
- Use proper measurement category (CAT), voltage, and amperage rated probes, test leads, and adapters for the measurement.
- Do not use or store the device around explosive gas, vapor, or under high temperature and humidity.
- When handling the test probes and crocodile clips, keep your fingers behind the physical guard.
- Examine the measuring test leads (if present) before use. If any element's insulation is deteriorated (even partially), replace them with proper functional test leads.
- Connect the common test lead before the live test lead, and remove the live test lead before the common test lead.
- Before measuring current, ensure the instrument fuses are available and disconnect the power supply to the circuit being tested.
- Remove the batteries if the device is not used for an extended period of time, or if stored in temperatures above 45 °C. If batteries are not removed, battery leakage can damage the device.

Usage Examples
The MS2108 clamp meter can be used for various measurements. Below are examples of how to perform common tests:
Battery Installation
Description: The diagram shows the rear of the clamp meter. The battery compartment cover is opened, batteries are inserted correctly (observing polarity), and the cover is closed.
AC Voltage (V~) Measurement
Description: To measure AC voltage, connect the black test lead to the 'COM' terminal and the red test lead to the 'VΩ' terminal. Set the rotary dial to the 'V~' (AC Voltage) range. Place the test probes across the AC voltage source. The display will show the measured AC voltage, for example, '230.6 V~'.
DC Voltage (V=) Measurement
Description: To measure DC voltage, connect the black test lead to the 'COM' terminal and the red test lead to the 'VΩ' terminal. Set the rotary dial to the 'V=' (DC Voltage) range. Place the test probes across the DC voltage source. The display will show the measured DC voltage, for example, '12.38 V='.
AC Current (A~) Measurement
Description: To measure AC current, open the clamp jaws and place them around a single AC conductor. Set the rotary dial to the 'A~' (AC Current) range. The display will show the measured AC current, for example, '2.53 A~'.
DC Current (A=) Measurement
Description: To measure DC current, open the clamp jaws and place them around a single DC conductor. Set the rotary dial to the 'A=' (DC Current) range. The display will show the measured DC current, for example, '2.53 A='.
Resistance (Ω) Measurement
Description: To measure resistance, connect the black test lead to the 'COM' terminal and the red test lead to the 'VΩ' terminal. Set the rotary dial to the 'Ω' (Resistance) range. Touch the test probes to the component to be measured. The display will show the resistance value, for example, '500 Ω'. The instrument also supports continuity testing, indicated by a 'Beep' symbol.
Capacitance (C) Measurement
Description: To measure capacitance, connect the black test lead to the 'COM' terminal and the red test lead to the 'VΩ' terminal. Set the rotary dial to the 'C' (Capacitance) range. Connect the test probes to the capacitor. The display will show the capacitance value, for example, '35 µF'.
Frequency (Hz) Measurement
Description: To measure frequency, connect the black test lead to the 'COM' terminal and the red test lead to the 'VΩ' terminal. Set the rotary dial to the 'Hz' (Frequency) range. Connect the test probes to the signal source. The display will show the frequency value, for example, '27.01 kHz'.
