BroadLink e-Plug Wi-Fi Smart Socket Setup Guide

Getting Started

This guide provides instructions for setting up your BroadLink e-Plug Wi-Fi Smart Socket, model SP2 or SP1, enabling smart control of your home appliances.

• Plug the SP2's power supply into a power outlet.
• Ensure your iOS or Android smartphone is connected to your home Wi-Fi network before starting the setup.

Wi-Fi Indicator Status

Understanding the Wi-Fi indicator light is crucial for setup:

• Rapid Flashing (approx. 5-6 times per second): The BroadLink device is in its original factory state and ready for configuration.
• Slow Flashing (3 flashes, pause, repeat): The device is waiting for configuration.
• Slow Flashing (1 flash every 3 seconds): The device has not connected to Wi-Fi. Check your Wi-Fi network status.
• Continuous Flashing (1 flash per second): Configuration has failed. Reset the device and try again.

Device Configuration

Standard Wi-Fi Setup

Launch the e-Control App. Select your home Wi-Fi network and input your Wi-Fi password to start the configuration process.

Soft AP Configuration (Alternative Method)

If the Wi-Fi light is not flashing rapidly, press the reset button until the blue light flashes rapidly. Then, follow these steps:

• Reset the BroadLink device by pressing the "reset" key. The light will slowly flash 3 times, pause for one second, and then repeat this cycle.
• In the e-Control App, navigate to "Add device" and select the "Soft AP Config" option (usually found in the top right corner).
• Go to your smartphone's Wi-Fi settings and connect to the "Broadlink Prov" network.
• Return to the e-Control App. The app will then connect to your home Wi-Fi.
• When "config success" appears, the AP configuration is complete.

Security and Access

To protect your device and prevent unauthorized access:

• Ensure the device is only connected to your home Wi-Fi network.
• Once connected, you can lock your device via the "Device Info" page within the e-Control App.

App Download Options

Download the free BroadLink e-Control App:

• From the Apple App Store or Google Play Store by searching for "e-Control".
• Scan the QR Code provided in the product packaging to download and install the Broadlink App. [QR Code Description: A square matrix barcode that can be scanned by a smartphone to access a URL or download an application.]
• Visit the official BroadLink website at www.broadlink.com.cn using your smartphone's internet browser and select "App Download" on the page to download and install.
