Product Introduction
The BroadLink Contros is a Wi-Fi Controlled Switch designed for smart home automation.
Device Dimensions: Approximately 84mm x 60mm.
Connections:
- Input: Requires connection to Live (L), Neutral (N) wires (typically Brown for L, Blue for N).
- Output: Connects to the appliance's Live (Lout) and Neutral (Nout) wires (typically Black for Lout, Red for Nout).
Features:
- ON/OFF & Reset Button: A single button for manual power control and factory reset.
- Short press: Turns the connected appliance on or off.
- Long press (6 seconds): Resets the device to factory settings.
- Wi-Fi LED Indicator: Provides status information.
- Blue LED blinks slowly: Configuration is successful
- Blue LED blinks rapidly: Device is in reset mode
- Blue LED is on: Device is powered on
- Blue LED is off: Device is powered off
Fixing: Features screw fixing holes for mounting.
Control Panel (e-Control App)
The BroadLink e-Control app provides a user-friendly interface for managing the Contros switch.
Main Interface Elements:
- Main Menu: Access to different functions.
- Scene Icon: Allows creation and management of scenes. Tap to add a scene.
- Remote Panel Shortcut: Access to control individual remote devices. Tap to add a remote control panel.
- Function Menu: Displays available actions or settings.
- Device Icon: Represents connected devices. Tap to view added devices.
Actions within the App:
- Add Device: Tap the '+' icon to add a new device.
- Add Remote: Tap to add a remote control panel.
- Add Scene: Tap to create a new scene.
- Device List: View all connected devices, such as 'TV', 'Aircon', 'e-Sensor'.
- Scene Management: Create and manage scenes like 'Living room scene'.
- Device Actions: For each device, options like Edit, Copy, Delete, and Cancel are available. Users can define actions for shortcuts.
Installation and Setup Guide
Follow these steps to install and configure your BroadLink Contros Wi-Fi Controlled Switch.
1. Install the e-Control App
Method 1: Search for "e-Control" on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and install the app.
Method 2: Scan the QR code provided on the package or user guide, or visit http://upgrade.broadlink.com.cn/getapp on your mobile device to download and install the app.
2. Prepare for Configuration
- Connect Input Wires: Ensure input wires (L, N) are connected correctly according to the provided wiring diagram. Important: POWER OFF BEFORE WIRING. This step is for professional installation only.
- Power On and Reset Mode: Turn on the power. The device should be in reset mode, indicated by the LED indicator flashing 2-3 times per second.
- Wi-Fi Connection: Make sure your smartphone is connected to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Open App and Add Device: Launch the e-Control app. Follow the "Add device" wizard to configure the device to your network. You will need to enter your Wi-Fi password.
- Connect Output Wires: Connect the output wires (Lout, Nout) to the appliance according to the wiring diagram.
Note: Do not use non-ASCII characters in your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) or password. The device only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n).
If configuration fails, reset the device and try again.
Using the Device
Once configured, you can control your appliance through the e-Control app.
Device Control Panel Features:
- Back to Control Page: Navigate back to the main device control screen.
- Real-time Control: Turn the connected appliance ON or OFF using the dedicated button.
- Timer Status: View the status of scheduled timer tasks.
- ON/OFF Button: The primary control for the connected appliance.
- History State: Tap to view the historical operational status of the device.
- Device Settings: Access settings specific to the device.
- Timer Settings: Configure scheduled ON/OFF times for the appliance.
- Device Time: Displays the current time synchronized with the device.
The device can support up to 3 types of timers and 25 timer tasks.

Smart Timer Plug Capacity
The smart timer plug supports up to 3 types of timers and 25 individual timer tasks.
Cautions
- Do not connect devices one after another (Nicht hintereinander stecken).
- For indoor use only (Nur zur Verwendung in trockenen Räumen).
- To disconnect voltage, pull the plug (Spannungsfrei nur bei gezogenem Stecker).
