Functions of Universal Remote
The universal remote offers several functions:
- Remote control for various appliances.
- Button timer: Allows setting a timer by long-pressing a button.
- Combo control: Enables combining multiple actions.
What is Scene?
A "Scene" acts like a single button that can trigger a sequence of actions across multiple appliances. You can group several remote commands into a scene, and activating the scene executes all associated commands.
How to Learn Remote Codes?
To learn a remote code:
- Tap a button on the BroadLink app interface (often indicated by a black front in diagrams). A prompt like 'Waiting for button learning' will appear.
- The device's orange indicator light will turn on.
- Point the appliance's original remote control towards the BroadLink RM device.
- If the orange indicator turns off and the app displays a success message, the code learning is successful.
- Tapping the learned button on the app will send the learned command, indicated by the orange indicator flashing once.
How to Perform Air Conditioner Learning?
Air conditioner codes are more complex, often involving multiple parameters like temperature, mode, and fan speed. A single button press can trigger a string of codes.
For example, to learn a code string for 'ON', 'Cooling', and '22°C':
- Set your air conditioner to 'Cooling' mode with the temperature at '22°C' using its original remote.
- Turn off the air conditioner using its remote.
- On the BroadLink app, tap a button to enter the learning state.
- Press the 'ON' button on the air conditioner's remote control towards the RM device to complete the learning process for the 'ON' command.
Note: The 'OFF' command should be learned separately, and can be learned from any state of the AC.
It is recommended to experiment to fully understand this process.
