How to Avoid Milk Leaks and Tips for Obtaining More Breast Milk During Extraction
- Ensure the breast pump is assembled correctly.
- Lean forward to ensure the flange is properly positioned against the breast, creating a seal. [Diagram: Person leaning forward, positioning the flange against the breast.]
- Wear a nursing bra to support the breast and flange. [Diagram: Person wearing a nursing bra, showing support for the breast and flange.]
- Lean slightly forward to remove the breast pump from the breast after pumping.
Tips
- Washable parts have an expected lifespan of 1-3 months. Replace them after prolonged storage or before pumping for a new pregnancy.
- The breast pump automatically shuts off after 30 minutes of use.
- If you experience discomfort or pain, or if there is a gap between your breast and the flange, stop use and consult a doctor. [Diagram: Finger shown between breast and flange, indicating a potential gap.]
