Momcozy S12 Pro Portable Breast Pump User Manual

This user manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of your Momcozy S12 Pro portable breast pump. Please read it carefully before use and keep it for future reference.

1. Introduction

The Momcozy breast pump allows breastfeeding mothers to pump and collect milk. It works by creating suction around the nipple to draw out milk, which is then collected in the milk collector. The device features stimulation, expression, and combination modes. Stimulation mode mimics rapid, short sucking patterns to initiate milk flow. Expression mode uses slower, deeper sucking patterns for efficient milk removal. The combination mode starts with stimulation and transitions to expression. A silicone membrane prevents milk from entering the air pressure system, keeping the milk pathway separate. This device is intended for single-user use.

6.2 Cleaning and Disinfection

6.2.1 General Description/Requirements

Providing breast milk supports the health and development of the baby. You can feed your baby breast milk by pumping. Ensuring the cleanliness of the pump parts is crucial, as bacteria can grow rapidly in breast milk or milk residue left in the pump parts. Following these instructions can help prevent contamination and protect your baby from infections. If your baby is premature or has other health issues, seek advice from your baby's healthcare provider for safe breast milk pumping.

  • 1) BEFORE EACH USE: Check and assemble the cleaned pump set. Clean the pump motor with cleaning cloths.
  • 2) AFTER EACH USE: Store milk properly: Store breast milk in designated breast milk storage bags or clean, food-grade containers. Use plastic or glass containers with tight-fitting lids. Label containers with the date and time and refrigerate or freeze them immediately.
  • Clean the pump area: Clean the pump motor with cleaning cloths.

6.2.2 Cleaning and Disinfection of Parts in Contact with Milk

? Note: Never place the main unit, charging cable, or adapter (if purchased) in water or a dishwasher, as this will permanently damage these parts.

⚠️ Warning

  • The milk collectors included with the product are intended for collecting milk during pumping. If you wish to feed your baby or store pumped breast milk, use a separate lidded milk collector.

6.4 Breast Milk Storage

6.4.1 Proper Breast Milk Storage

The safety and quality of pumped breast milk can be ensured by following recommended storage and handling techniques. These are general guidelines for breast milk storage temperatures. The preservation of breast milk is influenced by many factors, such as the amount of milk, ambient temperature during pumping, temperature fluctuations in the refrigerator and freezer, and environmental cleanliness.

Storing Pumped Breast Milk:

  • Refrigerate or freeze milk immediately after pumping whenever possible. Milk can be stored in the refrigerator, an insulated cooler, or in small portions (2-4 ounces / 0.5-1 dl) in the freezer.
  • Store breast milk in breast milk storage bags or clean, food-grade containers. Store milk in plastic or glass containers with tight-fitting lids.
  • Do not store milk in bottles with the recycling symbol 7, which may indicate the bottle is made of plastic containing BPA.
  • Remove excess air from packaging before sealing. Freeze bags flat. To prevent bags from sticking together, place paper towels between the bags.
  • Never store breast milk in disposable bottle liners or plastic bags not intended for breast milk storage.
  • Gently swirl the creamy part of breast milk that may separate back into the milk. Do not shake the milk, as this may break down some of its valuable components.
  • Storage conditions for freshly pumped milk:

Warning: Immediately refrigerate or freeze pumped milk, or store it at a temperature of 16-25°C (60-77°F) for 2-4 hours before feeding the baby.

Type of Breast MilkRoom Temperature (up to 25°C / 77°F)Refrigerator (4°C / 40°F)Freezer (-5°C / 23°F or colder)
Freshly Pumped Milk2-4 hours24 hoursUp to three months
Thawed MilkUse within two hours after the baby finishes feeding.

These guidelines apply only to healthy, full-term babies. Premature babies and sick babies may require different protocols. Consult a healthcare professional.

Storage Tips:

  • Clearly label the milk storage container with the pumping date and the baby's name if the milk is being stored by a caregiver.
  • Do not store breast milk in the refrigerator or freezer door. This helps protect breast milk from temperature changes caused by opening and closing the door.
  • Freeze breast milk immediately in small portions if you do not expect to use it within four days. This helps ensure the quality of the breast milk.
  • Freezing Breast Milk:
    • Freeze milk in small portions to avoid wasting unused milk. Freeze milk in 2-4 ounce (0.5-1 dl) portions or single servings.
    • Leave about an inch of space in the container, as breast milk expands when frozen.
    • Breast milk can be stored in an insulated cooler with ice packs for up to 24 hours during travel. At your destination, you can use the milk immediately or store it in the refrigerator or freezer.

6.4.2 Proper Thawing of Breast Milk

  • Always thaw the oldest breast milk first. The quality of breast milk may degrade over time.
  • Breast milk can be thawed in several ways:
    • In the refrigerator overnight
    • In a container of warm or lukewarm water
    • Under lukewarm running water
  • Never thaw or heat breast milk in a microwave. Heating breast milk in a microwave can destroy its nutrients and may overheat parts of the milk, potentially scalding the baby's mouth.
  • Use refrigerated thawed breast milk within 24 hours. Start counting the 24-hour period from the moment the breast milk is completely thawed.
  • Use room temperature or warmed breast milk within two hours.
  • Never refreeze thawed breast milk.

7. Storage Conditions

Storing the Pump

  • Short-term Storage: Protect the breast pump from direct sunlight. Store the breast pump and its accessories in a safe, clean, and dry place out of reach of children.
