This guide provides detailed instructions for installing the Salto XS4 One electronic lock. The XS4 One is an evolution of the Original model, featuring a new built-in reader available in two colors. It is compatible with most European mortise locks and cylinders.

Latch Compatibility
Must be used with SALTO Tubular latch only.
Escutcheon Compatibility
To be used only with SALTO compatible escutcheons.
Mortise Lock Recommendation
SALTO recommends the use of a mortise lock with a maximum 4° pre-turn. This ensures optimal performance and alignment.
Important Note on Model 7F
For models 56-57 and P6 with distance 7F, the self-drilling screw cannot be used to improve escutcheon vertical alignment.

Installation Steps
Step 1: Select Handing
Determine whether the door requires a left-hand or right-hand lock mechanism. The diagrams show how to orient the handles accordingly.

Step 2: Prepare Door
Drill necessary holes in the door. This typically involves Ø14mm holes for mounting screws and a MIN.Ø25mm hole for the spindle or mechanism.

Step 3: Install Tubular Latch and Escutcheon
Install the SALTO tubular latch and the compatible escutcheon onto the door.

Step 4: Mount Electronic Unit
Attach the main electronic unit to the door mechanism.

Step 5: Connect Wires
Carefully connect the electronic wires from the handle to the main unit. Ensure proper connection.

Step 6: Check Alignment

Step 7: Install Batteries
Insert LR03 AAA batteries into the electronic unit. Ensure correct polarity.

Secure the handles using the provided TORX 20 screws and ALLEN 3 screws. Ensure all screws are tightened appropriately.

Step 9: Final Assembly and Programming Warning
Complete the handle attachment. ⚠️ IMPORTANT: AT THIS POINT DO NOT CLOSE THE DOOR. PROGRAM THE LOCK FIRST. Failure to program before closing the door may require re-installation.

Model Variations and Features
Entry Lock with Privacy/Lockout Function
Models such as E i 756 xx and E i 7P6 xx offer enhanced security features including privacy and lockout functions, and a key override option.
- Privacy Mode: Activate by pressing the [push privacy] button.
- Key Override: Use the [European Cylinder Override] for emergency access.
