Installation Guide

The Salto XS4 One S narrow body version is designed to fit most Scandinavian profile doors and mortise locks standards. It is easy to install and retrofit, capable of replacing existing door hardware and fitting any door with a broad range of models and functions. The XS4 One S incorporates the latest BLUEnet wireless and mobile credentials technology to accommodate access control needs for both today and tomorrow.

Lock Mechanism Overview

SALTO recommends the use of a mortise lock with a maximum 4° pre-turn. Salto recommends when using mortise locks that there is a maximum of 4° displacement.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Select Handing

Determine the correct handing for the door. The diagram shows how to orient the lock mechanism for left or right-handed doors.

Step 2: Prepare Door

Use the provided template to mark the door and drill necessary holes. The diagram shows drilling at a 90° angle for a minimum Ø25mm hole and Ø14mm holes for the spindle and screws.

Step 3: Install Internal Mechanism

Fit the internal part of the lock mechanism into the prepared door opening.

Step 4: Connect Cable

Connect the necessary cable to the internal lock mechanism. The diagram illustrates the cable connection point.

Step 5: Secure Internal Mechanism

Secure the internal mechanism using screws. A warning symbol ⚠️ indicates a potential issue if installed incorrectly. A 'NOT OK' symbol ❌ is shown with multilingual text 'IKKE KORREKT', signifying an incorrect installation.

Step 6: Install Batteries

Install the batteries into the designated compartment. The diagram indicates 'Only LR03 Batteries' are required.

Step 7: Attach Exterior Handle

Fit the exterior handle onto the lock mechanism. An orange arrow indicates the direction of attachment or movement.

Step 8: Attach Interior Handle

Fit the interior handle onto the lock mechanism. Labels 'a' and 'b' indicate attachment points or specific actions for securing the handle.

Step 9: Final Checks and Programming

AT THIS POINT DO NOT CLOSE THE DOOR. PROGRAM THE LOCK FIRST.

This critical step ensures the lock is functional before the door is secured. The diagram shows the lock mechanism installed on the door.

Battery Change

The diagram shows the battery compartment for battery replacement. It specifies 'LR03' batteries and indicates a maximum time of 'MAX. 40"' for the change process. Text: 'Change/Remplacer/Cambio'.

Spindle Set: Note that the spindle set is (NOT INCLUDED) and may need to be sourced separately.

Cylinder Types:

Hotel Guest Room Lock: This configuration is labeled 'HOTEL GUEST ROOM LOCK' with multilingual designations (DK: LÅS FOR HOTEL VÆRELSE, FIN: HOTELLIN VIERASHUONE, SE: HOTELL ENHET).

* Required only for doors that exceed 60mm (2-3/8") thickness.
