Installation Instructions
Note: NO NEED TO REMOVE BUMPER.
- Remove the floor covering and pull the side covers out enough to allow access to the mounting points.
- On the left hand side remove the mastic from the marked out area inside the boot; this will expose the three dimples in the floor.
- Drill 20mm holes down through the dimples in the floor only: three on the left side and two on the right.
- Place the spacing tubes (items E, F & G) down into the chassis members (see sketch) and locate item B and item C over the tubes inside the boot.
- Using item K1 on the right side and item J on the left, loosely bolt item A to the underside of the chassis using item M under the head of item K in the extra hole on the left and item N under each bolt & nut. Place item P between item A and the chassis on the right hand side.
- Using the holes in item B and item C as jigs, drill four 12mm holes back through the rear panel.
- Place item D up behind the bumper and inline with the holes just drilled in the rear panel using item L bolt item D into place.
- Using item H bolt the ball bracket and wiring plate (not supplied in this kit) to the mounting plate.
- Fully tighten all nuts and bolts and ensure the towbar is rigid and secure.
- Replace side covers and floor covering.
Diagram: Towbar Assembly Schematic
The diagram provides a schematic view of the Tow-Trust TV341A towbar installation on a vehicle chassis. It details the attachment points and components. The main towbar (A) is shown connecting to the vehicle's frame using a left-hand clamp plate (B) and a right-hand clamp plate (C). Spacing tubes (E, F, G) are positioned within the chassis members to facilitate the connection. The installation involves drilling holes at specific dimples on the chassis. Fasteners include M16 bolts (H), M10 bolts of various lengths (J, K, K1, L), and corresponding nuts and washers (M, N). A specific spacer (P) is used on the right-hand side between the towbar and the chassis. Item D represents clamp plates with C/Nuts, mounted behind the bumper and secured with bolts (L). The diagram also indicates chassis connection points labeled 'N' and 'GN'.
