Tow-Trust Towbars
Important: Please read General Notes overleaf before fitting
Issue 1: TT889 Toyota Rav 4 1994 - 2000

Models with no rear bumper
- Remove the towing eyes from each chassis member.
- Using the existing bolts loosely bolt Item B to the left hand chassis.
- Using the existing bolts loosely bolt Item A to the right hand chassis.
- Using Item D bolt Item A to Item B.
- Using Item C bolt the ball bracket & wiring plate (not supplied in the kit) to the mounting plate.
- Fully tighten all nuts and bolts and ensure the towbar is rigid and secure.
Models with rear bumper
- Remove the two bolts each side and discard the spacers.
- Using the existing bolts loosely bolt Item B between the bumper arm and the left hand chassis.
- Using the existing bolts loosely bolt Item A between the bumper arm and the right hand chassis.
- Using Item D bolt Item A to Item B.
- Using Item C bolt the ball bracket & wiring plate (not supplied in this kit) to the mounting plate.
- Fully tighten all nuts and bolts and ensure the towbar is rigid and secure.
Diagram Description
The diagram illustrates the Tow-Trust TT889 towbar assembly for the Toyota Rav 4. It shows the main towbar component (labeled A) and a left-hand side arm (labeled B) attaching to the vehicle's chassis. Existing bolts are indicated as mounting points. Hardware items C (M16 bolts, nuts, washers) and D (M12 bolts, nuts, washers) are shown connecting these components to the chassis and to each other, facilitating the installation of the towbar and associated wiring plate.
Notes
1. Recommended Torque Setting for M12 Grade 10.9: 10.9 - 139 Nm. (For other Torque Settings, please see notes overleaf.)
2. Nose load limits and vehicle manufacturer's trailer / caravan weight limits must be observed.
