4. 원격 레버 옵션

5. 설치

Installation steps illustrated with diagrams labeled A through H. 1. (If assembling a new bike, skip to step 2) Remove the existing seatpost and saddle from the bike before installing the GIANT CONTACT SWITCH SL.
2. Loosen and remove the rear saddle fixing bolt. This will expose the remote cable input (A). Insert the new remote cable. The cable will pass through the post and exit at the bottom end.
3. Approximately install the saddle in a horizontal position. Tighten both clamp bolts evenly to the specified torque (B).
4. Connect the remote cable to the remote housing (C). Then attach the ferrule to the cable stop at the bottom of the post (D).
5. Apply a thin layer of friction paste to the post (E) or the frame's seat tube. Insert the seatpost into the seat tube up to the minimum insertion mark and collar ring, then tighten the seatpost clamp according to the indicated torque values*. Do not overtighten, as this may impair the seatpost's function.

*Select the lower value between the value marked on the post and the frame manufacturer's recommended value.

6. Route the remote housing and cable according to the frame manufacturer's cable routing instructions.

⚠️ 주의

You may need to remove the crank and bottom bracket components before routing the cable internally through the frame. If you need assistance, please contact an authorized GIANT dealer.

7. Install the remote control lever.
8. 7.1 Mount the lever onto the handlebar and tighten with a 3mm hex key. Recommended torque: 3Nm.
9. 7.2 Insert the cable into the barrel adjuster and firmly insert the cable housing.
10. 7.3 Pull the cable taut and ensure the seatpost, cable housing, barrel adjuster, and remote lever are all correctly attached.
11. 7.4 Tighten the clamping bolt using a 3mm hex key. Recommended torque: 1.2Nm (F).
12. 7.5 Trim any excess cable.

⚠️ 주의

Add a cable end to the remote cable to prevent the cable end from becoming sharp or the cable from fraying.

8. Test the remote to operate and change between high and low positions (G).
9. 9. Adjust the saddle to your desired height without violating the minimum insertion requirement. Tighten all fasteners according to the recommended torque (H).

❗ 경고

Do not ride if the seatpost height adjustment function is not working smoothly. Do not ride if minimum insertion cannot be achieved. If the post is not properly inserted, sudden failure may occur, leading to injury or death.

6. 작동

Adjusting the seatpost height while the bike is in motion may result in loss of control.

To lower seat height: Press the remote lever and apply weight to the saddle, or sit on the saddle, and the pre-set saddle height will lower. Release the lever.

Please note that the Contact Switch SL is designed to maintain either the high or low position. If the low position is not reached after releasing the remote lever, the post may tend to return to the high position.

To raise seat height: Remove weight from the saddle and press the remote lever until the maximum extension/height is reached. Release the lever.

7. 사용 관리 및 문제 해결

A small amount of grease may seep from the collar ring area after the first few rides, which is normal. Simply wipe it clean.

To maintain performance, clean the exterior before or after riding. Use mild soapy water to wipe away dirt or debris. Rinsing with a regular hose will not affect its lifespan. However, avoid high-pressure jet washing if water gets inside.

If the dropper post does not operate smoothly or the installed position changes over time (often lower than before), re-installation can often resolve this issue.

8. GIANT 제한적 보증

Giant warrants the GIANT CONTACT SWITCH SL to the original owner only, for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase.

In no event shall Giant be liable for any direct, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to, personal injury, property damage, or economic loss, whether based on contract, warranty, negligence, product liability, or any other theory.

• Labor costs for part replacement or any other component.

Except as otherwise provided herein, Giant and its employees and agents shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising in connection with Giant or the product, including but not limited to, incidental and consequential loss or damage due to negligence or non-performance.

Giant makes no other warranties, express or implied. Any implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the duration of the express warranty stated above.

All claims under this warranty must be made through an authorized Giant dealer or distributor. Proof of purchase or other evidence of the date of purchase will be required before a warranty claim can be processed. If a claim is made in a territory other than the territory of purchase, additional fees and restrictions may apply. Warranty periods and details may vary by country. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights depending on your location. This warranty does not affect your legal rights.
