110 mm and 140 mm travel options are available to suit the adjustment needs of most cyclists.

PRECAUCIÓN

Read the instructions carefully before installing and using this seatpost. Failure to follow the instructions may result in serious injury or even death.

1. Adjusting the saddle height while in motion can lead to loss of control.
2. Do not ride a bicycle with a modified CONTACT SWITCH SL seatpost. Any modification will void the warranty.
3. Loose, overtightened, damaged, or worn parts can cause unexpected malfunction. Periodically inspect the seatpost for wear or damage. If there are any signs of wear, cracks, or dents on the seatpost or any of its parts, stop using the seatpost immediately and seek an authorized GIANT dealer for inspection, repair, or replacement.
4. Ensure all bolts on the GIANT CONTACT SWITCH SL seatpost are correctly tightened to the recommended torque specifications before riding.
5. Overtightening the seatpost clamp will affect the seatpost's height adjustment function. Refer to the recommended torque value engraved on the seatpost clamp or in the bicycle's user manual.

4. OPCIONES DE LA PALANCA REMOTA

The appropriate remote lever may be one of the following models, depending on the bicycle purchased:

The GIANT CONTACT SWITCH SL is compatible with all remote levers within the GIANT product range.

5. INSTALACIÓN

Installation Steps:

1. (Refer to Step 2 if assembling a new bicycle) Remove the saddle and seatpost from the bicycle before installing the GIANT CONTACT SWITCH SL.
2. Loosen and remove the rear seat clamp bolt. The remote cable entry will be visible (A). Insert a new remote cable. The cable passes through the seatpost and exits at the bottom end.
3. Install the saddle in a level position. Temporarily tighten both seat clamp bolts (B).
4. Insert the remote cable into the remote mount (C). Then, place the cable end stop at the bottom of the seatpost (D).
5. Apply a light layer of friction paste to the seatpost (E) or the frame's seat tube. Insert the seatpost into the frame approximately halfway between the minimum insertion mark and the clamp ring. Then, tighten the seatpost clamp according to the indicated torque value*. Do not overtighten, as this may affect the seatpost's function.
   * Choose the lower value between the value engraved on the seatpost and the frame manufacturer's recommendations.
6. Install the remote mount and cable following the cable routing instructions of the frame manufacturer.

PRECAUCIÓN

You may need to remove the crankset and bottom bracket before routing the cable internally through the frame. Contact an authorized Giant dealer for assistance.

7. Install the remote control lever.
8. 7.1 Mount the lever on the handlebar and secure it with a 3 mm hex wrench. Recommended torque: 3 Nm
9. 7.2 Pass the cable through the adjuster barrel and securely insert the cable housing.
10. 7.3 Tension the cable and ensure that the seatpost, cable mount, adjuster barrel, and remote lever are securely fastened.
11. 7.4 Secure the fixing bolt with a 3 mm hex wrench. Recommended torque: 1.2 Nm (F)
12. 7.5 Cut off excess cable.

PRECAUCIÓN

Place a terminal on the remote cable to prevent the cable from having a sharp or frayed end.

8. Operate the remote control and test the function by switching between the high and low positions (G).
9. 9. Adjust the saddle to the preferred height without exceeding the minimum insertion requirement. Tighten all bolts according to the recommended torque. (H)

ADVERTENCIA

Do not ride if the seatpost's height adjustment function is not working correctly. Do not ride if the minimum insertion is not reached. Improper seatpost insertion can cause sudden failure and lead to injury or even death. Contact a Giant authorized service center for more information.

6. FUNCIONAMIENTO

ADVERTENCIA

Adjusting the seatpost height while the bicycle is in motion can lead to loss of control.

To lower the saddle height: Press the remote lever and push the saddle down or sit on it to reach the lower position. Then, release the lever.

Note that the Contact Swicth SL is designed to be in a high or low position. If the low position is not reached after releasing the remote lever, the seatpost tends to return to the high position.

To raise the saddle height: Remove weight from the saddle and press the remote lever until the maximum extension/height is reached. Then, release the lever.

7. CUIDADOS Y RESOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS

After a few rides, a small amount of grease may appear from the clamp ring. This is normal. Simply wipe it clean.

To ensure prolonged performance, clean the exterior before or after each ride. Use mild soapy water to clean off dirt or accumulated dust. You can rinse it with a hose, as it does not affect durability. However, always avoid pressure washing, as water can enter.

If the telescopic seatpost does not operate smoothly or has changed position since installation (in most cases, lower than before) over time, you can resolve this by reinstalling the seatpost and remote lever.

8. GIANT GARANTÍA LIMITADA

Giant warrants the GIANT CONTACT SWITCH SL for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase exclusively for the original owner.

This warranty extends from the date of purchase, applies only to the original owner, and is non-transferable. In no event shall Giant be liable for any direct, incidental, or consequential damages, including, but not limited to, damages for personal injury, property damage, or economic losses, whether based on contract, warranty, negligence, product liability, or any other theory.

EXCLUSIONES

The foregoing warranty, or any implied warranty, does not cover:

• Normal wear and tear of parts in situations where there are no manufacturing or material defects.
• Products serviced by someone other than an authorized Giant dealer.
• Modifications to the product from its original condition.
• Use of this product for abnormal, competitive, and/or commercial activities or for purposes other than those for which this product was designed.
• Damage caused by failure to follow the instructions in this manual.
• Damage to paint, finish, and decals resulting from participation in competitions, jumps, descents, and/or training for such activities or events, or as a result of exposing the product to severe conditions or climates, or operating it in severe conditions or climates.
• Labor charges for replacement or exchange of parts.

Except as provided in this warranty and subject to all additional warranties, Giant and its employees and agents shall not be liable for any loss or damage of any kind (including incidental and consequential losses or damages caused by negligence or breach) arising from or in connection with any Giant product.

Giant offers no other warranties, express or implied. All implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to that of the express warranties stated above.

Any claim against this warranty must be made through an authorized Giant dealer or distributor. Proof of purchase or other proof of the date of purchase is required before a warranty claim can be processed. Claims made outside the country of purchase may be subject to additional fees and restrictions. The duration and details of the warranty may vary by country. This warranty grants you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from place to place. THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.
