Principle of Operation

In a hygro-adjustable VMC system, airflow is automatically regulated according to the humidity level in the rooms, thus responding to the actual ventilation needs of the building. The BDH vent is installed in sanitary rooms.

Description

The BDH is a hygro-adjustable vent intended for technical rooms in individual homes and collective housing, for both new builds and renovations. It is a small model designed for flow rates below 50 m³/h.

Installation Guidelines

• The BDH must be installed in humid or technical rooms: bathrooms, WCs, utility rooms.
• The vent should be positioned at the top of a vertical wall or on the ceiling, at a height of at least 1.80 meters above the floor.
• The vent must be accessible and removable, with a clearance of at least 20 cm between the center of the vent and adjacent walls, and not directly attached to the duct.
• Airtightness of the connection between the vent and the duct must be optimal. This is improved by using a sleeve. A metal sleeve is used for collective housing (stainless steel sleeve is mandatory for VMC Gaz), while a plastic sleeve can be used for individual homes.
• For versions with a Ø 125 mm spigot: the vent fixes directly (by push-fit with O-ring) into sleeves, RT Flex, rigid, or semi-rigid ducts.
• For versions with a Ø 80 mm spigot: they fix by push-fit into sleeves, rigid, or semi-rigid ducts.
• For installations with cord-operated vents on the ceiling or above furniture, use a cord return (ref. 11015001).
• Note: For electrically controlled hygro-adjustable vents, two AA/LR06 batteries and a standard push button (ref. 11026011) are required.
• Hygro-adjustable vents operate within the pressure range of 80-160 Pa.
• Extraction vents must be maintained and checked at least once a year. It is prohibited to connect a mechanical hood to the VMC system (Art. 14 - decree of March 24, 1982).
• Before replacing an old vent with a new one, perform a pressure reading and record the type of dwelling concerned.
