Principle of Operation

In a hygro-adjustable VMC system, the airflow rate is automatically regulated according to the humidity level in the rooms, thereby adapting to the actual ventilation needs of the building. The BDH vent is installed in sanitary spaces to manage this regulation.

The BDH is a hygro-adjustable vent intended for technical rooms in new and renovated individual houses and collective housing. It is a compact hygro-adjustable vent suitable for flow rates below 50 m³/h.

Installation Guidelines

• The BDH vent must be installed in humid or technical rooms: bathrooms, WCs, utility rooms.
• Position the vent high on a vertical wall or ceiling, at a minimum height of 1.80 meters from the floor.
• Ensure the vent is accessible and removable, with at least 20 cm clearance between the vent's center and adjacent walls or objects not attached to the duct.
• Maintain optimal sealing between the vent and the connecting duct. This is enhanced by using a sleeve. A metal sleeve is recommended for collective housing (stainless steel sleeve is mandatory for Gas VMC systems), while a plastic sleeve can be used for individual houses.
• For versions with a 125 mm spigot: the vent connects directly (push-fit with O-ring) into a sleeve, RT Flex, or rigid/semi-rigid duct.
• For versions with an 80 mm spigot: it connects via push-fit into sleeves or rigid/semi-rigid ducts.
• For ceiling installations or installations above furniture, use a cord return (reference 11015001).
• For hygro-adjustable vents with electric control, two AA/LR06 batteries and a standard push button (reference 11026011) are required.
• The hygro-adjustable vents operate within a pressure range of 80-160 Pa.
• Extraction vents require annual maintenance and checks. Connecting a mechanical hood to the VMC network is prohibited (Article 14 - decree of March 24, 1982).
• Before replacing an existing vent, perform a pressure reading and note the type of dwelling.
