1 Important Safety Information
Please read and follow these instructions carefully.
- Observe all warnings.
- Do not block any ventilation openings.
- Do not install near heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
- Protect the unit from direct sunlight, open flames, and heat.
- The product shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing.
- Place the product on a flat, hard, and stable surface.
- Do not place any hazardous sources on the product (e.g., liquid-filled objects, lit candles).
- Never place the unit on other electrical equipment.
- Use only accessories specified by the manufacturer.
- Never remove the casing of the unit. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the product has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the product, the product has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
- The battery (rechargeable battery pack or battery installed) shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
- If batteries are replaced incorrectly, there is a risk of explosion. Replace only with the same or equivalent type of battery.
- Battery operation in extremely high or low temperatures, during storage, or transport, as well as low air pressure at high altitude, may pose a safety hazard.
- If the battery is replaced with an incorrect type, there is a risk of explosion.
- Do not replace the battery with a non-rechargeable battery (e.g., some types of lithium batteries) which may damage the protection.
- Install all batteries correctly.
- Leaving the battery in an environment with extremely high or low temperature or extremely low air pressure may result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
- Batteries contain chemical substances. They should be disposed of properly.
- If you suspect that a battery has been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.
- When replacing batteries, always keep all new and used batteries out of reach of children. Ensure that the battery compartment is completely secured after replacement.
- If the battery compartment cannot be closed securely, stop using the product. Keep it out of reach of children and contact the manufacturer.
- The product shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing.

- Use the product safely in an environment with a temperature from 0°C to +45°C.
- To prevent fire hazard, the unit is equipped with an external power supply only, whose output complies with PS1 (with output power less than 15 W).
- The power provided by the charger must be between 5 Watts, which is the minimum power required for the radio, and 15 Watts, which is the maximum power required for the radio to achieve maximum charging speed.

Radio Overview
Front Panel Controls:
- 1 [Preset 1/2]: Save/directly access preset 1 or 2.
- 2 [Snooze]: Snooze the alarm. [Sleep Timer]: Set sleep timer.
- 3 [Menu]: Open the menu. [Info]: Display information. [Back]: Return to the previous menu. [Exit]: Exit the menu.
- 4 [Volume Dial / Select Option]: Adjust volume or select menu options. [Open Menu List]: Open the list of selected menu items. [Save Preset]: Save selected preset stations. [Auto Scan/Save]: Automatically scan and save radio stations. [Play/Pause]: Play or pause playback.
- 5 [Source/FM/Bluetooth]: Switch between FM/Bluetooth sources. [Bluetooth Pairing]: Initiate Bluetooth pairing.
- 6 [Power/Standby]: Turn on/off or switch to standby. [Snooze Alarm]: Snooze the alarm.
- 7 [Activate Preset Mode]: Activate preset programming mode. [Select Preset Station]: Select a preset radio station.

3 Usage
Always follow the instructions and their sequence in this section.
Charging the Built-in Battery
The portable radio is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery.
Note: When the battery charge level is low, the [Low Battery Icon] is displayed. Please charge the built-in battery as soon as possible.
Connect the USB Type-C port on the portable radio to a power outlet (5V == 2A) using the supplied USB Type-C cable.
When the portable radio is charging, the [Charging Icon] is displayed.
When the portable radio is fully charged, the [Fully Charged Icon] is displayed.
Note: Your device contains built-in lithium batteries. Over time, the charging capacity of lithium batteries will decrease due to self-discharge. To ensure the longevity of the device's battery, we recommend charging the built-in lithium battery to about 50% every 6 months when the device is not in use.
Powering On/Off or Standby
- Press the button to turn on the unit. The radio switches to the last selected source.
- Press the button to switch the unit to standby mode. The time is displayed (if set).
Note: If no Bluetooth device is connected for more than 15 minutes, or if connected but not playing, the radio automatically switches to standby mode.
To turn off the unit, press and hold the
button for three seconds in any mode. The display screen turns off.Volume Adjustment
While listening, turn the dial to adjust the volume.
Display Brightness Adjustment
You can select different brightness levels or turn off the display screen.
- Press to access the menu.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Display], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Backlight level], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select the brightness level (High, Medium, Low) on the display screen, then press to confirm.
- Press to exit the menu.
4 Clock Settings
Note: If no button is pressed within 30 seconds, the menu will close.
Automatic Clock Setting
- Press to access the menu.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Clock], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Set auto/manual], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Auto(RDS)], then press to confirm.
- Press to return to the previous menu.
Using an FM RDS station, the unit can automatically synchronize the time broadcast by the FM RDS station (with CT information).
Manual Clock Setting
- Press to access the menu.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Clock], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Set date&time], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select the hour, then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select the minute, then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select the month, then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select the day, then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select the year, then press to confirm. The time is set.
- Press to return to the previous menu.
Time Format Setting
- Press to access the menu.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Clock], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Set 12H/24H], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [12H] or [24H], then press to confirm.
- Press to return to the previous menu.
Date Format Setting
- Press to access the menu.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Clock], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Set date format], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select the date format [MM-DD-YYYY], [DD-MM-YYYY], or [YYYY-MM-DD], then press to confirm.
- Press to return to the previous menu.
Clock Style
- Press to access the menu.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Clock], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Clock style], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Classic analog] or [Normal digital], then press to confirm.
- Press to return to the previous menu.
5 Alarm Settings
Setting Alarm Time
Note: Ensure that the clock is set correctly.
- Press to access the menu.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Alarm], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Alarm 1 Setup] or [Alarm 2 Setup], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Wake up time], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to set the hour, then press to confirm. The minute will blink.
- Turn the dial or press to set the minute, then press to confirm.
- If [Once] is selected as the alarm period, use and to set the alarm date.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Frequency], then press to confirm. The alarm repetition cycle will blink.
- Turn the dial or press to select the alarm repetition cycle (Once, Daily, Weekdays, or Weekends), then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Source], then press to confirm. The alarm source will blink.
- Turn the dial or press to select the alarm source (ZUMMERS or FM station), then press to confirm.
If [FM] is selected as the alarm source (default is ZUMMERS), the Alarm menu will have an additional [Source] option. Use
and to select the FM preset station number.Press
to return to the previous menu.The corresponding alarm icon [Alarm Icon] will appear.
Tip: The unit exits the alarm setting mode after 30 seconds of inactivity. If FM is selected as the alarm source, but no preset station is selected, ZUMMERS will activate automatically. The alarm snooze duration is 60 minutes if the user takes no action.
Alarm Activation/Deactivation
- Press to access the menu.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Alarm], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Alarm 1] or [Alarm 2], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [On] or [Off], then press to confirm the alarm activation or deactivation.
- Press to return to the previous menu.
If the alarm timer is activated, the [Alarm Icon] will appear. If the alarm timer is deactivated, the [No Alarm Icon] will appear.
Snooze
- When the alarm rings, press the button. The alarm is snoozed and will ring again after 10 minutes (default is 10 minutes).
- During the snooze period, press to select a different period (in minutes) for the repeated ringing.

- During the snooze period, press and hold the button for three seconds to cancel the alarm snooze. The alarm is stopped.
Stopping Alarm Signal
When the alarm signal sounds, press the
button to pause the alarm signal and snooze the alarm, or press the button to stop the alarm signal. The alarm is stopped, but the alarm settings are saved.Sleep Timer Setting
This portable radio can automatically switch to standby mode after the sleep timer is set.
- Turn on the unit.
- Press the button to select the sleep time. Press multiple times to select different sleep times.
Off 15 30 45 60 90 120 (minutes)
- To deactivate the sleep timer: Repeat the above steps, setting the sleep timer to Off.
6 FM Radio Listening
Note: Keep the portable radio away from other electronic devices to avoid radio interference. To ensure optimal reception, fully extend and adjust the position of the FM antenna.
Automatic Tuning
- Press to turn on the unit.
- Press to select FM mode.
- Press and hold for 3 seconds. The portable radio will automatically tune to a strongly received station.
Manual Tuning
Press
to select the frequency and tune to a station manually.Note: The portable radio tuning grid is 50 kHz. The radio frequency on the display panel will increase by 0.05 MHz when pressing
.Automatic FM Station Scan and Save
Note: You can save up to 20 FM radio stations.
In FM receiver mode, press and hold the
button for three seconds. [Auto Scanning...] is displayed. The radio automatically scans and saves all FM radio stations, then plays the first available station.Manual FM Station Save
- Tune to an FM radio station in FM receiver mode.
- Press and hold for three seconds to activate the programming mode. The preset list appears on the screen.
- Turn the dial or press to select a number.
- Press to save the preset station.
- Repeat steps 1-4 to save more FM radio stations.
Tip: To remove a previously saved station, save another station in its place if the number of presets exceeds 20.
Preset Station Selection
- In FM receiver mode, press .
- Turn the dial or press to select the preset radio station.
Note: The preset radio station will be confirmed automatically after three seconds.
RDS Information Display
RDS (Radio Data System) is a service that allows FM stations to display additional information. Tune to an FM RDS station. Press and hold
for three seconds to display the following information (if available): Station name, Program type (e.g., [NEWS], [SPORT], [POP M]), Time, Text, Frequency.Scan Setting (Sensitivity)
- Press to access the FM menu.
- Press to activate [Scan setting].
- Turn the dial or press to select [Strong] (strong stations only) or [All] (all stations), then press to confirm.
- Press to exit the menu.
7 Bluetooth® Music Listening
Note: The operating range between devices is approximately 25 meters (in open space). Compatibility with all Bluetooth® devices is not guaranteed. Any obstructions between devices can reduce the operating range. Keep away from other electronic devices that may cause interference. The unit will disconnect if the other device is out of operating range.
Bluetooth® Connection
- Press to select Bluetooth mode. [Not Connected] will appear.
- On your Bluetooth device, turn on Bluetooth, find and select [Philips TAV2000FB] to start pairing.
If connection is successful:
- You will hear a prompt tone.
- [Connected] will appear.
Bluetooth® Disconnection
- Switch to another source on the unit; or
- Disable the function on your Bluetooth® device.
Press and hold the
button for three seconds to disconnect the Bluetooth connection. If disconnected successfully, you will hear a prompt tone, and [Pairing] will appear.Clearing Bluetooth® Pairing Records
- Press to access the Bluetooth menu.
- Press to select [Bluetooth pair].
- Turn the dial or press to select [Yes] (to disconnect Bluetooth® and start pairing), then press to confirm.
- Press to exit the menu.
- Press to access the Bluetooth menu.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Bluetooth clean], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Yes] to disconnect the current connection, or select [No] to keep the connection, then press to confirm.
- Press to exit the menu.
[Pairing] will appear.
Music Playback
When playing music on a Bluetooth® device, you can use this unit to control music playback.
- Press to pause/resume playback.
- Press to skip the track.
- Turn the dial to adjust the volume.
8 Kitchen Timer
Note: The unit exits the menu setting mode after 30 seconds of inactivity.
Setting Kitchen Timer
- Press to turn on the unit.
- Press to access the menu.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Kitchen timer], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Kitchen timer setup], then press to confirm.
Pressing and holding the
button allows you to set the kitchen timer.- Hour digits will blink.
- Turn the dial or press to set the hour, then press to confirm.
- Minute digits will blink.
- Turn the dial or press to set the minute, then press to confirm.
- Second digits will blink.
- Turn the dial or press to set the second, then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [On/Off], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [On] (activate) or [Off] (deactivate), then press to confirm.
- Press to return to the previous menu.
The [Kitchen Timer Icon] and kitchen timer will appear.
Tip: The kitchen timer timeout is 60 minutes if the user takes no action.
Stopping Kitchen Timer Signal
When the kitchen timer rings, press any button to stop the buzzer.
Cancelling Kitchen Timer
- If you wish to cancel the kitchen timer, press to access the menu.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Kitchen timer], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [On/Off], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Off], then press to confirm.
- Press to exit the menu.
Note: The kitchen timer can only be cancelled if the unit is turned on.
9 Other Functions
Menu Language Selection
- Press to access the menu.
- Turn the dial or press to select [System], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Language], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select the menu display language, then press to confirm.
Available languages: English, Deutsch, Italiano, Français, Norsk, Dansk, Nederlands, Svenska, Español, Suomi, Polski.
- Press to return to the previous menu.
Listening with Headphones
Plug headphones into the jack on the back of the main unit.
Factory Reset
- Press to access the menu.
- Turn the dial or press to select [System], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Factory reset], then press to confirm.
- Turn the dial or press to select [Yes] (to reset all radio settings to factory default), then press to confirm.
[Restarting...] will appear on the display.

11 Troubleshooting
Warning: Never remove the product casing.
To avoid voiding your warranty, never attempt to repair the product yourself. If you encounter problems while using the unit, follow the steps below before contacting a service center. If the problem is not resolved, visit the Philips website at www.philips.com/support. When contacting Philips, ensure the unit is nearby and you have the model and serial numbers available.
No Power Supply
- Ensure the portable radio is fully charged.
- Ensure the portable radio USB port is connected correctly.
No Sound
- Adjust the volume on this portable radio.
- Adjust the volume of the connected device.
- Ensure the Bluetooth device is within operating range.
Unit Unresponsive
- Restart the portable radio.
Poor Radio Reception
- Keep the portable radio away from other electronic devices to avoid radio interference.
- Fully extend and adjust the antenna position.
Alarm Not Working
- Set the clock/alarm correctly.
Clock/Alarm Settings Lost
- Reset the clock/alarm.
- Replace the backup batteries.
Poor Audio Quality After Connecting to a Bluetooth-Enabled Device
- Poor Bluetooth reception. Move the device closer to the speaker or remove any obstructions between them.
Your Bluetooth Device Failed to Find [Philips TAV2000FB] for Pairing
- Press and hold the button for three seconds to enable Bluetooth pairing mode, then try again.
Cannot Connect to Bluetooth Device
- The device's Bluetooth function is not enabled. Refer to the device's user manual to learn how to enable the function.
- This portable radio is not in pairing mode.
- This portable radio is already paired with another Bluetooth-enabled device.
- Disconnect and try again.
Battery Cannot Be Charged Properly or Battery Drains Too Quickly
- Replace the battery.
Battery Replacement Procedure:
- Open the battery cover on the back of the unit and remove the original battery from the battery compartment.
- Insert a battery of the same type (not included).
- Close the battery cover.
