3. Preparation
3.1. Installation Site and Environment
For optimal RV leveling function, install the Renogy ONE Core indoors in a location where the screen faces the front, rear, left, or right side of the RV, vertically to the RV floor. RV leveling blocks are recommended during the leveling process. Ensure the installation environment meets the following conditions:
- Placement: Indoors, away from direct sunlight.
- Chemicals: Do not expose to flammable or harsh chemicals or vapors.
- Safety: Keep out of reach of children.
- Temperature: -4°F to 158°F (-20°C to 70°C).
- Humidity: 0% to 95% RH (non-condensing).
- Wireless Communication: Keep away from metal objects by at least 200 mm (7.9 inches) for quality wireless communication.
3.2. Checking Renogy ONE Core
Inspect the Renogy ONE Core for visible damage such as cracks or dents. Ensure all connector contacts are clean, dry, and free of dirt and corrosion. Do not use if damaged. There are no serviceable parts inside; do not open, dismantle, repair, or modify the unit. Wear protective equipment and use insulated tools during installation. Dispose of the unit responsibly according to local regulations.
3.3. Checking DC Power
Ensure the connected DC power supply is within the range of 8V to 32V. Connecting to a power source outside this range may cause power-on failure or permanent damage. Always confirm polarities before connecting and ensure the DC power is turned off to prevent electrical shock.
3.4. Extend the Power Cable
If the included power cable is too short, use an extension cable (≥ 22 AWG). Confirm polarities before connecting the extension cable. The extension cable should not exceed 10 meters (32.8 feet). Steps involve cutting the included cable, stripping insulation, connecting the extension cable, and taping cutoff areas.
3.5. How to Connect RS-485 Communication Devices (Optional)
Renogy ONE Core communicates via Bluetooth wireless or RS-485 wired protocols. For RS-485, you will need an RJ45 Ethernet Cable (CAT5 or above), and optionally a Renogy Communication Hub (for multiple devices) or a Renogy BT-2 Bluetooth Module. Diagrams illustrate single and multiple device connections.
3.6. How to Connect to CAN Communication Devices (Optional)
This applies to RSHGWSN-W02W-G2 models and later. It enables communication with Renogy devices supporting CAN communication. Connection methods include Backbone Network and Daisy Chain Network. Ensure 120Ω terminating resistors are used for Backbone networks. For Daisy Chain, use LP16 Plug (7-Pin) to RJ45 Communication Adapter Cables. Diagrams illustrate connection steps for both topologies.
4. Installation
4.1. Place Renogy ONE Core on a Table
The Renogy ONE Core can be placed on a table, using the environmentally friendly package box as a bracket. Note that the RV leveling function is unavailable when placed on a table. Power can be supplied via the included power cable or an optional Type-C cable. Communication cables connect to devices (CAN or RS-485).
