5. Adding the Camera
Before Use:
- If using an SD card, insert the Micro SD card (2-128GB) before starting. If the Micro SD card is inserted after powering on, detection may fail, and the product may need to be restarted.
- For Wi-Fi connection, keep the product and your mobile phone 30 cm to 100 cm away from the router.
- Before adding the camera, please enable Bluetooth and location permissions for the APP, then turn on your phone's Bluetooth and begin preparing the camera connection. (Note: If the app is not open, the camera connection will fail).
Adding via Bluetooth:
Press and hold the camera's power button until the operational LED indicator flashes red. Tap "+" on the top right of the app's homepage to add the product. On the product addition page, a list of nearby cameras connectable via Bluetooth will appear automatically. Select the camera, search for a nearby 2.4G Wi-Fi network, enter the Wi-Fi password, and wait for the camera to connect automatically to Wi-Fi, then complete the camera addition.

7. PIR Detection
The PIR sensor has a detection range of 10 meters. The "Alarm Setting" for PIR is enabled by default with high sensitivity, which is adjustable via "Device"-"Settings"-"Alarm Setting". Note: Higher sensitivity extends detection range but may result in more false alarms.
8. Push Notification and Alarm Playback
The battery camera with PIR sensor is not designed for 24/7 recording. It sends notifications to the app and records videos to the Micro SD card or a cloud server (for an additional fee) when the PIR sensor detects human body movement. You can view these videos from anywhere via the Cococam app.
When the PIR sensor is triggered, the camera and its system activate:
- An alarm sound will play in the app. Please authorize Cococam notifications in your phone's settings and adjust your phone's volume.
- Alarm snapshots and video recordings are saved to the Micro SD card or cloud storage. Ensure the Micro SD card is inserted.
App screenshots show alarm messages and video playback options.
9. Best Conditions for Night Vision
When the camera is in night vision mode, any obstacle within three meters of the lens can concentrate infrared rays, illuminating the lens and preventing night vision from functioning correctly. Regardless of where the camera is installed, ensure there are no obstructions within three meters of the lens.
10. Important Information to Reduce False Alarms
To reduce the number of false alarms, please:
- Do not install the camera in a location with bright objects or light sources, such as direct sunlight or bright lamps.
- Do not place the camera in an area where vehicles and people frequently pass by.
- Keep the camera away from air conditioner vents, humidifiers, or heat transfer openings.
- Do not point the camera towards mirrors or glass surfaces.
- Keep the camera at least one meter away from wireless devices to avoid interference.
10.2 Surveillance Zone Coverage
It is not recommended to align the PIR sensor vertically with the trajectory of moving objects, as this may prevent movement detection. It is advised to tilt the camera by more than 10 degrees to capture all movements.
Diagram illustrates PIR sensor alignment for optimal motion detection.
11. Video Playback and Micro SD Card
Video recordings are stored on the Micro SD card (not provided) or in the cloud.
- 11.1 Capacity: Supports 2GB to 128GB only.
- 11.2 Recommendations: For a consistent recognition rate and longer SD card lifespan, we recommend using a Class 10 Micro SD card from brands like Samsung, SanDisk, or Kingston.
- 11.3 Formatting: Verify that the Micro SD card is not damaged and format it before inserting it into the camera. The required format is FAT32 or EXFAT32.
- 11.4 Readability Check: After inserting the Micro SD card into the camera, the memory volume will be displayed in the Cococam app, indicating that the camera's Micro SD card is readable.
- 11.5 Support: If the Micro SD card is not readable, please contact us for assistance.
Troubleshooting
No. | Description | Solutions and Function |
---|---|---|
1 | What should I do if the message indicates that the connection cannot be established? | 1) Verify your Wi-Fi name and password. 2) Note: If your camera does not support 5G technology, use a 2.4G network. 3) Ensure your camera and mobile phone are located near the router. 4) Contact customer service via email to resolve your issue within 24 hours. |
2 | How to reset parameters to default? | 1) Press and hold the reset button for five seconds. 2) Wait for the voice prompt "bugu". 3) Verify that the red indicator light is flashing slowly. |
3 | How to connect the camera to a new Wi-Fi network? | 1) Press the reset button to restore factory settings. 2) Remove the camera from the CocoCam application. 3) Reconnect. |
4 | Why do I receive captures with people in the frame? | 1) The camera needs time to react, and people move too quickly. 2) Objects that dissipate heat can be detected by the PIR. In such cases, reduce the PIR alarm sensitivity. |
5 | Why do I receive frequent alarms? | The environment or the number of vehicles at the installation location frequently trigger the cameras. Adjust the camera's alarm sensitivity to "low". |
6 | How is it that people pass by without triggering the alarm? | The PIR inspection zone has a limited range. The person may be too far or too close, or they may pass quickly through the corner of the video and not be detected by the PIR. |
7 | No push alarm | Disable CocoCam application notifications in mobile settings. |
8 | Video recording without alarm | Insert the Micro SD card or enable cloud storage. |
9 | Device offline | Check if the network is functioning. It is possible that the camera is installed too far from the router, preventing Wi-Fi from working correctly. |
10 | Video delay | Check the Wi-Fi network. The camera and the router should not be too far apart. |
11 | Short battery life | The device wakes up too frequently and should not be placed on the side of the road or in direct sunlight. |
12 | CocoCam App flashbacks | 1) The system version of your phone may be too low or too high, causing incompatibility. Uninstall and reinstall the application. 2) Contact customer service, providing your camera's model number and your phone's system number. |
13 | Cannot create an account | 1) When creating an account, ensure you select the correct country. 2) You do not need to enter a verification code. Please follow the procedure to register your account. |
14 | Cannot add a friend | Your account and your friend's account must be registered in the same country or region. For example, accounts in Europe and America cannot be friends. |
