5. Add Camera
Before Using:
- SD Card: If using an SD card, insert the Micro-SD card (2-128GB) before powering on the camera. Inserting it after powering on may cause detection failure, requiring a restart.
- Wi-Fi Connection: Position the product and your mobile phone 1ft to 3ft (30cm to 100cm) from the Wi-Fi router.
- App Permissions: Before adding the camera, enable Bluetooth and positioning permissions for the Cococam app. Ensure Bluetooth is also enabled on your phone.
Note: Failure to grant necessary app permissions may result in connection failure.
Product Adding Methods:
Method 1: Through Bluetooth
- Press and hold the camera's power button until the LED indicator flashes red.
- In the Cococam app, tap the "+" icon in the upper right corner to add a product.
- On the adding page, nearby cameras connectable via Bluetooth will appear automatically.
- Select the camera, search for the 2.4G band Wi-Fi network, enter the Wi-Fi password, and wait for the camera to connect automatically.
Method 2: Through Scan QR Codes
- In the Cococam app, tap "+" to "Add Device" and select "Battery Camera".
- Follow app prompts: press and hold the camera power button to start, then press and hold the reset button to reset the camera until the red indicator light flashes.
- Select the nearby 2.4G Wi-Fi, enter the password, and display the QR code on your phone to the camera.
- A "bugu" sound indicates successful scanning. The camera will then connect automatically.
App Interface Walkthrough:
The app guides users through connecting the device, selecting Wi-Fi networks, entering passwords, and confirming connection success. Key steps include tapping "Add Device", selecting the "Battery Camera", switching the camera on, resetting the device, inputting Wi-Fi password, scanning QR codes, waiting for connection, and confirming "Device Added".
7. PIR Detection
The PIR sensor has a default detection range of 10 meters (32ft) with high sensitivity. Sensitivity can be adjusted via "Device"-"Settings"-"Alarm Setting". Note that higher sensitivity increases detection distance but may result in more false alarms.
8. Alarm Push Notification and Playback
The camera is designed for motion-triggered recording, not 24/7 continuous recording. When the PIR sensor detects human motion, it sends notifications to the app and saves video to a micro SD card or cloud server (additional fee may apply). Videos can be viewed remotely via the Cococam app.
When the PIR sensor is triggered:
- An alarm sound will play in the app. Ensure notifications are enabled for the Cococam app in your mobile settings and that your phone's volume is turned up.
- Alarm snapshots and video recordings are saved to the micro SD card or cloud storage. Ensure the micro SD card is inserted correctly.
9. Best Conditions for Night Vision
To ensure optimal night vision performance, avoid placing any obstacles within three meters of the camera lens. Infrared rays can concentrate on the lens if obstructed, preventing night vision from functioning correctly.
10. Important Information for Reducing False Alarms
10.1 To reduce false alarms, please follow these guidelines:
- Do not install the camera where bright objects or direct light sources (sunshine, lamps) are present.
- Avoid placing the camera in high-traffic areas with frequent vehicle or pedestrian movement.
- Keep the camera away from air conditioning vents, humidifiers, and heat transfer openings.
- Do not point the camera towards mirrors or glass surfaces.
- Maintain at least one meter distance from wireless devices to prevent interference.
10.2 Surveillance Area Coverage:
It is recommended to avoid positioning the PIR sensor directly facing the path of moving objects. For effective motion detection, the PIR sensor should not be vertically aligned with moving objects. Tilting the camera at an angle greater than 10 degrees is advised to capture all motion.
11. Video Playback and Micro SD Card
Video recordings are stored on a micro SD card (not included) or in the cloud.
- 11.1 SD Card Support: Supports Micro-SD cards from 2GB to 128GB.
- 11.2 Recommended Cards: For optimal performance and longevity, use a Class 10 Speed Micro SD Card from brands like Samsung, SanDisk, or Kingston.
- 11.3 Preparation: Check the micro SD card for damage and format it to FAT32 or EXFAT32 before inserting it into the camera.
- 11.4 Recognition: After insertion, the memory volume will appear in the Cococam app, indicating the SD card is readable.
- 11.5 Unreadable Card: If the micro SD card is not readable, contact customer support for assistance.
Troubleshooting
No. | Description | Solutions and Operation |
---|---|---|
1 | Connection cannot be established | 1) Verify Wi-Fi name and password. 2) Ensure you are using a 2.4G network if your camera does not support 5G. 3) Confirm your camera and mobile phone are near the router. 4) Contact customer service for assistance within 24 hours. |
2 | How to reset to default | 1) Press and hold the reset button for five seconds. 2) Listen for the "bugu" sound. 3) Observe the red light flashing slowly. |
3 | Connect to new Wi-Fi network | 1) Press the reset button to restore factory settings. 2) Remove the camera from the Cococam app. 3) Re-connect the camera. |
4 | Receive pictures without people | 1) The camera may need time to wake up, or people are moving too fast. 2) Objects emitting heat might be detected by PIR. If this occurs, lower the PIR alarm sensitivity. |
5 | Frequent alarms | The environment or the number of vehicles may be triggering the camera frequently. Change the camera alarm sensitivity to "low". |
6 | People passing without triggering alarm | The PIR inspection area has range limitations. The person might be too far, too close, or passing quickly in the camera's view, making them undetectable by the PIR. |
7 | No alarm push | Enable notifications from the Cococam app in your mobile settings. |
8 | No alarm video recording | Insert a micro SD card or enable cloud storage. |
9 | Device offline | Check your network connection. The camera might be too far from the router, affecting Wi-Fi functionality. |
10 | Video delay | Check the Wi-Fi network. Ensure the camera and router are not too far apart. |
11 | Short battery life | The camera may be waking up too often. Avoid placing it on the roadside or in direct sunlight. |
12 | Cococam app flashbacks | 1) Your phone's system version might be incompatible. Try uninstalling and re-downloading the app. 2) Contact customer service with your camera's model number and your mobile phone's system number. |
13 | Unable to register account | 1) Ensure you select the correct country during registration. 2) A verification code is not required; follow the standard registration process. |
14 | Unable to add friend | Both your account and your friend's account must be registered in the same country or region (e.g., Europe and America accounts cannot be friends). |
