7. PIR Detection
The PIR sensor has a default detection range and sensitivity that can be adjusted via "Device"-"Settings"-"Alarm Setting". The detection distance is 10 meters (32ft). Higher sensitivity provides longer detection distances but may result in more false alarms.
8. Alarm Push Notification and Playback
The camera is designed for motion-triggered recording, sending notifications to the app and saving video to a micro SD card or cloud server (additional fee applies) when human body motion is detected. Videos can be watched via the Cococam app.
When the PIR sensor is triggered:
- An alarm sound will play in the app. Ensure notifications from the Cococam app are enabled in mobile settings and that your mobile volume is turned on.
- Alarm snapshots and video recordings are saved to micro SD card/cloud storage. Ensure the micro SD card is inserted.
9. Best Conditions for Night Vision
To ensure effective night vision, avoid placing the camera within three meters of objects that might concentrate infrared rays. Ensure there are no obstacles within three meters of the lens.
10. Important Information for Reducing False Alarms
To minimize false alarms:
- Do not install the camera where bright objects or direct light (e.g., sunshine, bright lamps) are present.
- Avoid placing the camera in areas with frequent vehicle or pedestrian traffic.
- Keep the camera away from air conditioning vents, humidifiers, and heat transfer openings.
- Do not point the camera towards mirrors or glass surfaces.
- Position the camera at least one meter away from wireless devices to prevent interference.
10.2 Surveillance Area Coverage:
It is not suggested to align the PIR sensor directly with the path of moving objects. For optimal detection, the camera should be tilted at an angle of more than 10 degrees, rather than being vertically aligned with moving objects, to capture all motion.
11. Video Playback and Micro SD Card
Video recordings are stored on a micro SD card (not included) or in the cloud.
- Storage Capacity: Supports 2-128GB Micro SD cards.
- Card Recommendation: For steady recognition and longevity, a Class 10 Speed Micro SD Card from brands like Samsung, SanDisk, or Kingston is recommended.
- Preparation: Check the micro SD card for damage and format it to FAT32 or EXFAT32 before inserting it into the camera.
- Recognition: After insertion, the memory volume will display in the Cococam app, indicating the card is readable.
- Troubleshooting: If the micro SD card is not readable, contact customer support for assistance.
Troubleshooting
Refer to the table below for common issues and their solutions.
No. | Description | Solutions and Operation |
---|---|---|
1 | Connection cannot be established | 1) Check Wi-Fi name and password. 2) Ensure you are using a 2.4G network if the camera does not support 5G. 3) Make sure the camera and mobile phone are near the router. 4) Contact customer services for assistance. |
2 | Reset to default | 1) Press and hold the reset button for five seconds. 2) Listen for the "bugu" sound. 3) Watch for the red light flashing slowly. |
3 | Connect camera to new Wi-Fi network | 1) Press the reset button to restore factory settings. 2) Remove the camera from the CocoCam app. 3) Re-connect. |
4 | Receive pictures without people | 1) The camera may need time to wake up, or people are moving too fast. 2) Objects with heat dissipation may be detected by PIR. Lower the PIR alarm sensitivity. |
5 | Frequent alarms | The environment or number of vehicles may trigger frequent alarms. Change the camera alarm sensitivity to "low". |
6 | People passing without triggering alarm | The PIR inspection area has a range limitation. The person might be too far, too close, or pass quickly in the video corner, not being detected by PIR. |
7 | No alarm push | Enable notifications from the CocoCam app in mobile settings. |
8 | No alarm video recording | Insert the micro SD card or enable cloud storage. |
9 | Device offline | Check network connectivity. The camera might be too far from the router, affecting Wi-Fi performance. |
10 | Video delay | Check the Wi-Fi network. Ensure the camera and router are not too far apart. |
11 | Short battery life | The camera may be waking up too often. Avoid placing it on the roadside or in direct sun. |
12 | Cococam app flashbacks | 1) Your phone's system version might be incompatible. Uninstall and re-download the app. 2) Contact customer service with your camera model and mobile phone system number. |
13 | Unable to register account | 1) Ensure you select the correct country during registration. 2) A verification code is not required. Follow the registration process. |
14 | Unable to add friend | Your account and your friend's account must be registered in the same country or area (e.g., Europe and America accounts cannot be friends). |
