Objectives in Achieving Net Zero

Kinetik Medical Devices Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040 for direct emissions and 2045 for emissions it influences. Key objectives include:

  • Reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across all operations.
  • Align with NHS Net Zero targets or relevant national frameworks.
  • Enhance sustainability credentials to meet customer and regulatory expectations.
  • Improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of greenhouse gases produced prior to the introduction of reduction strategies, serving as a reference point for measuring progress.

Baseline Year: 2022

Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.

Kinetik Wellbeing has developed a carbon reduction plan and established a baseline emissions footprint for measuring progress. This inventory includes direct emissions (Scope 1), indirect emissions from purchased energy (Scope 2), and supply chain emissions (Scope 3), using methodologies like the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and Carbon Trust's Footprinting Standards.

The company has set targets for emissions reduction using measures such as energy efficiency improvements, renewable energy procurement, and supply chain changes.

Progress is monitored using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including carbon intensity, energy use, and renewable energy sources.

Stakeholder engagement is planned to raise awareness and encourage action.

Through its carbon reduction plan, Kinetik Wellbeing aims to contribute to tackling climate change and ensuring a sustainable future.

Carbon Reduction Targets

To continue progress towards Net Zero, Kinetik Wellbeing has adopted the following targets:

Projected carbon emissions will decrease to 350 tCO2e by 2030, a reduction of 30%. Progress against these targets is illustrated in the graph below.

Projected vs Actual tCO2e (2022-2045)

The graph displays projected and actual carbon emissions (tCO2e) from 2022 to 2045. The 'Actual' line shows emissions starting around 327 tCO2e in 2022, increasing to approximately 495 tCO2e in 2024, and then decreasing. The 'Target' line shows a steeper decline, aiming for below 50 tCO2e by 2030 and approaching zero by 2045.

Declaration and Sign Off

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standards.
