The Series 9276 binary outputs transmit signals for the intrinsically safe operation of Ex i solenoid valves, indicator lamps and horns. The devices do not require a separate auxiliary power supply as they are powered by the control circuit. The intrinsically safe outputs are galvanically separated from the inputs.

Hazardous area vs. Safe area diagram

Output characteristic curve
A graph plotting output voltage Uo [V] against output current Io [mA]. The curve shows that at 10 mA output current, the output voltage is approximately 10 V. The open-circuit voltage (Uo) is 21.9 V at 0 mA. The characteristic is generally linear up to approximately 40 mA.
