This document provides detailed instructions for the installation of the SALTO DBolt Touch IC electronic lock.
Additional Information
The SALTO DBolt Touch IC is a new electronic lock designed for multi-family housing and residential markets, offering advanced functionality. It serves as a retrofit solution for upgrading existing deadbolt mechanical locks.

Two installation options are supplied: Option A (REF: LDxA...) and Option B (REF: LDxL...).

Important Notes Before Installation
Escutcheon Pairing: The inside and outside escutcheons are paired. They will not function correctly if switched with escutcheons from different sets. ⚠️

Installation Steps
Step 1: Door and Frame Preparation
Install the latch mechanism into the door. Ensure the strike plate is correctly positioned and installed in the door frame. Use appropriate screws (e.g., PH 2 for latch, TORX 20 for strike plate).
Step 2: Frame Strike Plate Installation
Secure the strike plate to the door frame using the provided screws (e.g., PH 2).
Step 3: Outside Escutcheon Installation
Insert the outside assembly and spindle through the prepared holes in the door. Ensure correct orientation for exterior use.
Step 4: Spindle Length Selection
Refer to the table below to select the correct spindle length ('L') based on your door thickness ('t'):

Step 5: Wire Connections and Inside Assembly Attachment
Connect the wires from the outside assembly to the inside assembly. Then, attach the inside assembly to the door, ensuring all components align correctly. ⚠️
Step 6: Securing Inside Escutcheon
Attach the inside escutcheon to the door. Secure it using the mounting screws. Ensure the inside escutcheon is oriented correctly for the 'Inside Side 1'. ⚠️
Step 7: Hand Selection
Set the hand of the lock mechanism by rotating the spindle as indicated by the 'R' (Right) and 'L' (Left) indicators.
Step 8: Spindle Securing
Insert the spindle and secure it in place with the spindle screw.
Step 9: Wire Connections
Connect the necessary wires between the outside and inside assemblies.
Step 10: Outside Escutcheon Attachment
Attach the outside escutcheon to the door, aligning it with the spindle and securing it with screws (e.g., TX 20).
Step 11: Finalizing Outside Assembly
Ensure the outside escutcheon is properly seated and secured.
Step 12: Securing Outside Escutcheon
Push the outside escutcheon onto the spindle and secure it with the provided screw. A "click!" sound indicates proper engagement.
Step 13: Attaching Cover Plate
Attach the cover plate to the assembly.
Step 14: Inserting Lever
Insert the outside lever and secure it with the lever set screw (TX 10). ⚠️
Step 15: Attaching Battery Cover
Attach the battery cover to the inside assembly.
Step 16: Securing Inside Assembly
Secure the inside assembly to the door using the provided screws (e.g., TORX 10).
Step 17: Door Detector Connection (If Applicable)
For models equipped with a door detector, disconnect the detector cable first. Then, connect the cable as shown. ⚠️
Note: Unplug for models with door detector only!
Step 18: Battery Insertion
Insert the batteries into the inside assembly, observing correct polarity.
Step 19: Handing Set Up
This section details the process for setting the handing (opening direction) of the lock. Rotate the spindle as shown in the diagrams.

Step 21: Reset Procedure
To reset the lock, insert the RESET TOOL into the designated hole and press the button. Observe the LED indicators and listen for the audible beep sequence (e.g., "1 s BEEEEEE EEEEEP") which confirms the reset operation.
Step 22: Final Spindle Rotation
Perform a final rotation of the spindle, possibly with a key, to finalize the handing setup.
Step 23: Attaching Cover Plates
Attach the final cover plates to the lock assembly.
Step 24: Securing Internal Components
Secure internal components with the appropriate screws (e.g., TX 10).
Step 25: Attaching Lever
Attach the outside lever and ensure it is properly secured.
Step 26: Removing Cover
Remove the protective cover from the lock mechanism.
Step 27: Keypad Interaction
Interact with the keypad for operation. A "CLICK HERE" button is indicated for further action or information.
Battery Replacement
Procedure:
- Remove the inside cover.
- Remove the old batteries and insert new ones, ensuring correct polarity.
- Replace the inside cover.
Note: Battery replacement should be completed within 40 seconds (MAX.40") to maintain lock settings.

Emergency Opening
In case of emergency, an external power source can be connected using the Type-C connector. This allows for temporary power to operate the lock.
