SALTO XS4 Original+ / XS4 One+ Installation Guide

This guide provides instructions for installing SALTO XS4 Original+ and XS4 One+ electronic locks.

General Overview and Components

The SALTO XS4 Original+ and XS4 One+ are state-of-the-art electronic escutcheons designed for enhanced security, connectivity, and design. They are battery-operated access control devices.

Important Considerations:

Mortise locks are not included with the escutcheon.
The SALTO Tubular Latch must always be included with the product.
For doors exceeding 60mm [2-3/8"] thickness, specific fixing methods may be required.

Installation Steps

Follow these steps for installation:

Step 1: Select Handing

Determine the correct handing (left/right) of the door and install the handle accordingly. This involves inserting the spindle and securing it.

Step 2: Prepare the Door

Install the mortise lock and the SALTO tubular latch into the door. Ensure the latch is correctly oriented.

Note: Do not disconnect any wires during installation if applicable.

Step 3: Mount the Escutcheon (Exterior)

Attach the exterior escutcheon and handle to the door, passing the spindle through the mortise lock and latch mechanism.

Step 4: Mount the Escutcheon (Interior)

Attach the interior escutcheon and handle, securing it with the provided screws. Ensure all connections are firm.

Step 5: Install Batteries and Finalize

Insert the required batteries (e.g., LR03 AAA). Ensure correct polarity. Close the interior cover.

Important: At this point, do not close the door until the lock is programmed.

Step 6: Programming

Program the lock according to the system's requirements before closing the door.

Step 7: Door Detector Installation (Optional)

For wireless models with an external door detector, follow specific instructions for mounting the detector.

Step 8: Other Models and Features

Note: If the door is closed before programming, the lock will automatically lock and can only be opened with a Portable Programming Device (PPD).
