4. Introduction
The WP22DN model is a wall console format interface compatible with the DANTE™/AES67 audio transport protocols.
It features 2 MIC/LINE audio inputs with combo connectors on the front panel and 2 conversion channels to DANTE™/AES67, which convert the signal either directly or via summing of the analog input channels (stereo to mono conversion). It also has 2 analog outputs with dual XLR connectors on the front and Euroblock connectors on the rear. Both outputs are connected to the two DANTE™/AES67 channels received from the local network. PoE or local power supply is supported.
4.1. Key Features
- Wall console format audio interface, compatible with DANTE™/AES67.
- 2 balanced analog inputs, MIC/LINE level (4 gain stages selector), with combo connectors.
- Conversion of 2 analog channels into 2 DANTE™/AES67 channels, either converting both input channels directly or a combination of both channels (IN1 + IN2 Mix).
- 2 balanced analog outputs with XLR connectors on the front panel and Euroblock connectors on the rear. The outputs correspond to the conversion of the two DANTE™/AES67 channels received by the device.
- Ethernet communication interface, RJ45 connector.
- PoE or local power supply.
- Phantom power available for analog inputs, 48V DC, 5 mA max.
- Size compatible with dual wall mounting frames Ecler WPa2SMBOX (included) and the optional Ecler WPa2FMBOX flush-mount frame.
- Front cover available in two versions: one with access to the input gain control, and one without.
5. Installation
The installation of the WP22DN involves the following steps:
5.1. Device Installation
- Remove the front covers, which are held by magnets. You can use the included magnet as a tool for this. Place it at the top right corner and pull gently.
- Connect the Category CAT5 or higher cable, which will connect the device to the local network, to the RJ45 connector. If necessary, connect an external power supply (see section 5.3. Connecting an External Power Supply).
- If applicable, connect the analog audio outputs on the rear of the device (equipped with Euroblock connectors) to the desired audio equipment. These two outputs are an exact copy of the two outputs equipped with XLR connectors on the front panel.
- Screw the device to the mounting or flush-mount frame.
- Attach the desired front covers (with or without access to the input gain controls), which are held by magnets.

- RJ45 NETWORK INTERFACE
5.2. Controls on the WP22DN Front Panel
Behind the right front cover (INPUT2 / OUTPUT2) is a 3-position DIP switch. This is used to set the contents of the DANTE™/AES67 output channels 1 and 2 (which come directly from the analog inputs or from a combination of both inputs) and to activate phantom power for the analog input channels.
DIP Switch Configuration Table:
DIP Switch 1 (Left) | DIP Switch 2 (Middle) | DIP Switch 3 (Right) |
---|---|---|
OFF (Up position): Dante Channel 1 = analog IN1 | OFF (Up position): Phantom power for analog IN1 and IN2 = OFF | OFF (Up position): Dante Channel 2 = analog IN2 |
ON (Down position): Dante Channel 2 = analog IN1 + IN2 | ON (Down position): Phantom power for analog IN1 and IN2 = ON | ON (Down position): Dante Channel 2 = analog IN2 + IN1 |
Additionally, each analog input has its own gain control with 4 stages: 0 / 10 / 20 / 35 dB, as shown on the front covers, which allow access to the gain setting using a screwdriver.
Note: The correct setting of these input gains and the resulting levels must be checked by a DANTE™/AES67 receiving device using VU meters after the signals from the WP22DN have been converted to DANTE™/AES67 and received by the DANTE™/AES67 receiving device. The following example shows a MIMO4040DN receiving two DANTE™/AES67 channels coming from a WP22DN:

6.2 WP22DN Network Configuration and DANTE™/AES67 Routing
The network parameters of the WP22DN and the DANTE™/AES67 transmitter and receiver channels are configured using the Dante Controller application from Audinate. For more information, refer to the developer's documentation: www.audinate.com/products/software/dante-controller?lang=es
By default, the WP22DN is supplied with DHCP service enabled, meaning the device automatically obtains a dynamic IP address, if offered by a DHCP server on the LAN network. However, it is possible to configure specific static network parameters using the Dante Controller application. Open the window shown in the following figure:
Diagram showing the Dante Controller - Device View window for IP address configuration.
By default, the device name (as it appears in Dante Controller) is always WP22DN-nnnnnn, where "nnnnnn" corresponds to the last 6 digits of the device's MAC address. However, this device name can be changed in the following window:
Diagram showing the Dante Controller - Device View window for renaming the device.
The routing for DANTE™/AES67 channel transmitters and receivers can be set in the Routing window, which also displays all Dante-enabled devices found on the network:
