4. Presentation
The WP22DN is a wall-mount interface compatible with Dante™/AES67 digital audio transport protocols.
It features 2 Combo MIC/LINE audio inputs on its front panel and 2 channels of Dante™/AES67 conversion, either directly or by summing the analog inputs (stereo to mono mix). Additionally, it provides 2 balanced analog outputs with duplicated connectors in XLR format for the front panel and Euroblock on the rear panel, both linked to 2 Dante™/AES67 channels from the local network. It supports PoE or local power supply.
4.1. Main Features
- Wall-mount audio interface compatible with AES67 and Dante™/AES67.
- 2 balanced analog inputs, MIC/LINE level (4 gain settings selector), with Combo connector.
- Conversion of 2 analog channels to 2 Dante™/AES67 channels, taking directly the 2 input channels or mixing them (IN1 + IN2 mix).
- 2 balanced analog outputs, with XLR connectors on the front panel and Euroblock connectors on the rear panel. These outputs are an exact copy of the 2 outputs available with XLR connectors on the front panel, both linked to 2 Dante™/AES67 channels from the local network.
- Ethernet communication interface, RJ45 connector.
- PoE or local power supply.
- Phantom power available for analog inputs, 48VDC, 5 mA max.
- Double-size, compatible with Ecler's double surface-mount installation box (WPa2SMBOX, supplied by default with each unit) and Ecler's double-output recessed installation box (WPa2FMBOX, optional).
- Dual set of front panel plates: one with access to the input gain selector, and another without access to the selector.
5. Installation
The installation of the WP22DN unit consists of the following steps.
5.1. Unit Mounting
- Remove the front panel covers, held by magnets. You can use the supplied magnet as a tool, by contacting the top-right corner of the cover and gently pulling it.
- Connect the RJ-45 connector to the CAT5 or higher cable that will connect the unit to the local area network. If necessary (refer to the section below "External power supply installation"), connect an external power supply.
- If necessary, connect the analog audio outputs on the rear of the unit (equipped with Euroblock terminals) to the desired audio device. These 2 outputs are an exact copy of the 2 outputs available with XLR connectors on the front panel.
- Screw the device to the surface-mount box or the recessed-mount box.
- Mount the desired set of front panel covers (with or without access to the input gain trimmers), secured by magnets.

---|---|---|
OFF (Up position): Dante Channel 1 = IN1 analog | OFF (Up position): Phantom Power for analog inputs IN1 and IN2 = OFF | OFF (Up position): Dante Channel 2 = IN2 analog |
ON (Down position): Dante Channel 1 = IN1 + IN2 analog | ON (Down position): Phantom Power for analog inputs IN1 and IN2 = ON | ON (Down position): Dante Channel 2 = IN2 + IN1 analog |
Additionally, each analog input has its own gain control with 4 positions: 0/10/20/35dB, as indicated on the front panel plates accessible for screwdriver adjustment.
Note: It is necessary for a Dante™/AES67 receiving unit to verify, using level meters, the correct adjustment of these input gains and the resulting levels, once the signals have been converted to Dante™/AES67 by the WP22DN unit and received by this Dante™/AES67 receiving unit. The following example shows a MIMO4040DN unit receiving two Dante™/AES67 channels from a WP22DN unit:

- POWER LED: Illuminates green while the unit is receiving power.
- DANTE LED: Illuminates according to the following coded information:
- RED (solid): During the power-on process.
- AMBER (solid): During PTP (Precision Time Protocol) network time synchronization.
- GREEN (solid): When the unit is configured as a Dante™/AES67 slave.
- GREEN (blinking): When the unit is configured as a Dante™/AES67 master.
6.2. Dante™/AES67 Network Configuration and Routing of the WP22DN
To configure the WP22DN network parameters and the transmission and reception of Dante™/AES67 channels, you need to use the Dante Controller application from Audinate. For more information, consult the developer's documentation: www.audinate.com/products/software/dante-controller?lang=es
The WP22DN unit comes from the factory with DHCP service enabled, meaning it will automatically obtain a dynamic IP address served by a DHCP server on the local area network to which it is connected, if one exists. However, specific static network parameters can be configured using Dante Controller, by accessing the window shown in this example:
[Screenshot of the Dante Controller software showing the Device View and Network Config tabs.]
The default device name (label shown in the Dante controller), from the factory, is always WP22DN-nnnnnn, where "nnnnnn" corresponds to the last 6 digits of the MAC address of each device. However, this name can be changed by accessing this window:
[Screenshot of the Dante Controller software showing the Device View and Rename Device section.]
The routing of Dante™/AES67 channel transmitters and receivers can be defined in the routing window, where all Dante-capable devices detected on the network will also appear:
