Ensure the network is available. The camera supports 2.4GHz WLAN, not 5GHz.

5. Add Camera

Before Use:

  1. SD Card: Before turning on the device, insert a Micro-SD card (2-128 GB). If the Micro-SD card is inserted after the device is powered on, detection may fail, and the device must be powered on again.
  2. WLAN Connection: Place the device and your phone within 30 to 100 cm of the router.
  3. App Permissions: Before adding the camera, enable Bluetooth and location permissions for the app, then turn on your phone's Bluetooth to prepare for camera connection. (Note: If the app is not opened, the camera connection will fail.)

Method 1: Add via Bluetooth

  1. Press and hold the camera's power button until the LED indicator flashes red.
  2. Click the "+" icon in the upper right corner of the app's homepage to add the product. A list of nearby cameras that can be connected via Bluetooth will automatically appear on the product addition page.
  3. Select the camera, search for the nearby 2.4 GHz WLAN to connect to, enter the WLAN password, and wait for the camera to automatically connect to the WLAN. Then, complete the camera addition.

  3. Select the 2.4G WiFi near the camera, enter the password, and show the QR code on your phone to the camera for scanning.
  4. When you hear a "Bugu" sound, it means the camera scan was successful. Wait for the camera to connect automatically and complete adding the camera.

WLAN Setup: Select a 2.4 GHz WiFi network and enter your password. The device does not work with 5G WLAN networks.

Note: Please confirm again if your WLAN account and password are correct.

Connection Successful: The device has been successfully added.

6. Device Menu

The device menu provides various functions:

7. PIR Detection

The PIR sensor's detection range is activated by default, and the standard sensitivity is high, but it is adjustable via "Device"-"Settings"-"Alarm Setting". The detection range is 10 meters (32 feet).

Note: Higher sensitivity provides a greater detection range but may lead to more false alarms.

8. Alarm Push Notification and Playback

The battery camera with PIR sensor is not designed for 24/7 recording. Instead, it sends notifications to the app and saves videos to the Micro-SD card or cloud server (for an additional fee) when the PIR sensor detects human body movements. You can view the videos via the Cococam app from anywhere.

When the PIR sensor is triggered, the camera and its system are activated:

  1. An alarm sound will play in the app. Please allow Cococam app notifications in your phone's settings and turn up your phone's volume.
  2. Alarm snapshots and video recordings are saved to the Micro-SD card / Cloud storage. Ensure the Micro-SD card is inserted.

9. Best Conditions for Night Vision

When the camera is in night vision mode, an obstacle within three meters of the lens will cause the infrared rays to concentrate and illuminate it. Otherwise, the night vision function will not work. Regardless of where the camera is mounted, ensure there are no obstacles within three meters in front of the lens.

10. Important Information for Reducing False Alarms

10.1 To avoid false alarms, please note:

10.2 Coverage of the Surveillance Area:

When installing the camera, the PIR sensor should not be aimed vertically at moving objects, as it may not detect motion. It is recommended to tilt the camera by more than 10 degrees to capture all movements.

11. Video Playback and Micro-SD Card

Video recordings are stored on the Micro-SD card (not included) or in the cloud.

Troubleshooting Table

No. Description Solutions and Operation
1 What to do if the message "Connection could not be established" appears? 1) Check your WLAN name and password.
2) Note: If your camera does not support 5G, please use a 2.4G network.
3) Ensure your camera and phone are close to the router.
4) Contact customer service via email to resolve your issue within 24 hours.
2 How to reset the device to factory settings? 1) Press and hold the Reset button for five seconds.
2) Listen for the "Bugu" sound.
3) Observe the slowly flashing red light.
3 How to connect the camera to a new WLAN network? 1) Press the Reset button to reset the camera to factory settings.
2) Remove the camera in the CocoCam App.
3) Re-establish the connection.
4 Why do I get images with no people visible? 1) The camera needs time to wake up, and people move too quickly.
2) Objects emitting heat may be detected by the PIR sensor. In this case, reduce the PIR alarm sensitivity.
5 Why do I get frequent alarms? The environment or the number of vehicles where you installed the camera frequently triggers the camera. Change the camera's alarm sensitivity to low.
6 How can people pass by without triggering the alarm? The PIR inspection area has a range limitation. The person may be too far or too close, or the person moves quickly within the video's angle and is not detected by the PIR.
7 No Alarm Push Enable CocoCam app notifications in mobile settings.
8 No Alarm Video Recording Insert the Micro-SD card or enable cloud storage.
9 Device offline Check if the network is operational. It's possible the camera is mounted too far from the router, causing the WLAN to malfunction.
10 Video lag Check the WLAN network. The camera and router should not be too far apart.
11 Short battery life The camera wakes up too often and should not be placed by the roadside or in direct sunlight.
12 Cococam App flashbacks 1) Your phone's system version may be too low or too high, causing poor compatibility. Uninstall and reinstall the app.
2) Contact customer service with your camera's model number and your phone's system number.
13 Account cannot be registered 1) When registering an account, ensure you select the correct country.
2) You do not need to enter a verification code. Simply follow the process to register your account.
14 Cannot add a friend Your account and your friend's account must be registered in the same country or region. For example, accounts in Europe and America cannot add friends.
