7. PIR Detection
The PIR sensor has a detection range of 10 meters. The "Alarm setting" is enabled by default with high sensitivity, which is adjustable in "Device"-"Settings"-"Alarm Setting".
Note: Higher sensitivity extends detection distance but may increase false alarms.
8. Push Notification and Alarm Playback
The PIR sensor camera is designed to send notifications and record videos to the SD card or cloud (with subscription) when human motion is detected. You can view these videos via the Cococam app.
When the PIR sensor is triggered:
- An alarm sound will occur in the app. Ensure Cococam notifications are enabled in your phone's settings and adjust the volume.
- Alarm snapshots and video recordings are saved to the micro SD card or cloud storage. Ensure the micro SD card is inserted.
9. Best Conditions for Night Vision
For optimal night vision, ensure there are no obstacles within three meters of the lens. Obstacles can concentrate infrared rays, illuminating the area but preventing the night vision function.
10. Important Information to Reduce False Alarms
To minimize false alarms:
- Avoid installing the camera in locations with bright objects or light sources (e.g., sunlight, bright lamps).
- Do not place the camera where vehicles and people frequently pass by.
- Keep the camera away from air conditioner vents, humidifiers, heat transfer openings, etc.
- Do not point the camera towards mirrors or glass.
- Maintain at least one meter distance from wireless devices to avoid interference.
10.2 Surveillance Zone Coverage
When installing the camera, the PIR sensor should not be aligned vertically with moving objects to avoid missing detections. It is recommended to tilt the camera by more than 10 degrees to capture all movements.
11. Video Playback and Micro SD Card
Video recordings are stored on a micro SD card (not supplied) or in the cloud.
- Supports 2GB to 128GB cards.
- For consistent recognition and longevity, Class 10 micro SD cards from Samsung, SanDisk, or Kingston are recommended.
- Ensure the micro SD card is not damaged and format it before inserting. Use FAT32 or EXFAT32 format.
- After inserting the card, the memory volume will display in the Cococam app, indicating the card is readable.
- If the micro SD card is not readable, contact customer support for assistance.
Troubleshooting Table
No. | Description | Solutions and Functions |
---|---|---|
1 | What should I do when the message indicates that the connection cannot be established? | 1) Verify your Wi-Fi name and password. 2) Ensure you are using a 2.4G network (5G is not supported). 3) Make sure your camera and phone are close to the router. 4) Contact customer support via email for assistance. |
2 | How to reset parameters to default? | 1) Press and hold the reset button for five seconds. 2) Wait for the "bugu" voice prompt. 3) Verify the red light flashes slowly. |
3 | How to connect the camera to a new Wi-Fi network? | 1) Press the reset button to restore factory settings. 2) Remove the camera from the CocoCam app. 3) Reconnect. |
4 | Why do you receive captures with people in the frame? | 1) The camera needs time to react, and people move too quickly. 2) Objects that dissipate heat can be detected by PIR. Reduce PIR alarm sensitivity in this case. |
5 | Why do I receive frequent alarms? | The environment or the number of vehicles where the camera is installed frequently triggers alarms. Set the camera alarm sensitivity to low. |
6 | How is it that people pass without triggering the alarm? | The PIR inspection zone has a limited range. The person may be too far or too close, or pass quickly in the corner of the video and not be detected by PIR. |
7 | No push alarm | Disable CocoCam app notifications in mobile settings. |
8 | Video recording without alarm | Insert the micro SD card or enable cloud storage. |
9 | Device offline | Check if the network is working. The camera might be installed too far from the router, preventing Wi-Fi from functioning correctly. |
10 | Video delay | Check the Wi-Fi network. The camera and router should not be too far apart. |
11 | Short battery life | The device wakes up too often and should not be placed on the roadside or in direct sunlight. |
12 | Cococam App Flashbacks | 1) Your phone's system version might be too low or too high, causing incompatibility. Uninstall and reinstall the app. 2) Contact customer support with your camera model and phone system number. |
13 | Cannot create an account | 1) When creating an account, ensure you select the correct country. 2) You do not need to enter a verification code; follow the procedure to register your account. |
14 | Cannot add a friend | Your account and your friend's account must be registered in the same country or region. For example, accounts in Europe and America cannot be friends. |
