Usage and Exercise Guidelines
Weight Plate Storage Bars
When using the weight-plate storage bars for weight plates, ensure sufficient locking supports are used to secure your weight plates at all times. When storing weight plates on the storage bars, divide the weight plates evenly over the left and right side. Never exceed the maximum weight capacity of the weight plate storage bar.
Building Muscle and Gaining Weight
Unlike aerobic exercise, which emphasizes endurance training, anaerobic exercise focuses on strength training. A gradual weight gain can occur while building the size and strength of muscles. As muscle mass develops, your body adapts to the stress placed upon it. You can modify your diet to include foods such as meat, fish, and vegetables. These foods help muscles recover and replenish important nutrients after a strenuous workout.
Muscle Strength and Endurance
To achieve the greatest benefit from exercise, develop an exercise program that allows you to work all major muscle groups equally. To increase muscle strength, increase resistance and maintain the number of repetitions. To tone your body, decrease resistance and increase repetitions.
Training Intensity
Training intensity depends on your overall fitness level. Soreness can be lessened by decreasing the load on your muscles and performing fewer sets. To avoid injury, gradually work into your program and adjust the load to your individual fitness level. The load should increase as your fitness level increases. Muscle soreness is common, especially when starting. If soreness persists for a long time, consider changing your program. Eventually, your muscles will adapt to the stress.
Beginning a Strength Building Program
Warming Up
To begin strength training, stretch and perform light exercise for 5 to 10 minutes. This increases circulation, raises body temperature, and delivers more oxygen to muscles.
Workout
Keep in mind that prolonged muscle soreness is undesirable and may indicate injury.
Cool Down
At the end of each workout, perform slow stretching exercises for 5 to 10 minutes. Ease into each stretch. This phase allows muscles to wind down after training.
Drinking Water
Proper hydration is essential for the body to function correctly. Increase fluid intake during exercise, as water is lost through sweat. Replace lost water for proper muscle recovery.
Rest Day
Taking at least one rest day per week is important for body recovery. Continuous muscle training can lead to overtraining, which is not beneficial long-term.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Lubricate moving parts periodically with WD-40 or light oil. Inspect and tighten all parts before use. Clean the equipment with a damp cloth and mild, non-abrasive detergent; DO NOT use solvents. Regularly examine the equipment for signs of damage or wear. Replace any defective components immediately or keep the equipment out of use until repaired. Failure to examine regularly may affect safety.
Defects and Malfunctions
Despite quality control, defects can occur. Replace the defective part if possible. If the equipment malfunctions, contact the dealer immediately, providing the model number, serial number, problem description, conditions of use, and purchase date.
