Installation Instructions

These instructions provide guidance for installing Puig Pro 2.0 Crash Pads on Suzuki GSX-R1000 models from 2009 to 2016. It is recommended to consult a specialized workshop if you are not a trained mechanic.

General Assembly Steps

1. Remove the fasteners securing the chassis to the engine.
2. Mount the protectors on the corresponding side as shown in the diagrams.
3. Tighten the assembly and place the caps.
4. All replaced screws must be tightened to the torque specified in your motorcycle's OEM maintenance manual.
5. If OEM torque specifications are not provided, M10 screws can be tightened to 54 Nm.
6. A medium-strength liquid thread-locker (e.g., Loctite) should be used to secure all screws, bolts, and nuts.
7. Check all screw connections after the first 50 km of driving to ensure proper torque.

Detailed Assembly Steps

1. Right Side Assembly

Note: It is necessary to remove the fairing/cover for this step.

Refer to the diagram for the right side assembly. The diagram illustrates the components and their placement:

• A long screw (similar to item 2 or 8) passes through the assembly.
• A washer (item 3) is used.
• A nylon protector (item 4) is positioned on the outside.
• An aluminum metal spacer (item 5) is placed between the frame and the plate.
• The right plate (item 6) is mounted to the chassis.
• A nut (item 9) secures the assembly.
• A plastic cap (item 1) covers the end of the protector.

The diagram shows the crash pad assembly attached to the motorcycle frame on the right side, near the engine and front wheel. The components are assembled in sequence, with the plate (6) bolted to the frame, followed by the spacer (5), then the nylon protector (4), secured by a screw (2 or 8) and nut (9), and finally capped with item (1).

2. Left Side Assembly

Note: It is necessary to remove the fairing/cover for this step.

Refer to the diagram for the left side assembly. This process mirrors the right side, but uses the left plate (item 7).
