General Information & Warnings
These instructions detail the mounting of Puig engine guards for the Suzuki DL 1050 V-Strom (2020-2021). It is recommended to mount one side of the engine guard first, followed by the other; otherwise, the engine may become unsupported. All replaced screws must be tightened to the torque specified in the motorcycle's OEM maintenance manual. If no torque specifications are provided, use 54 Nm for M10 screws and 22 Nm for M8 screws. Medium strength liquid thread-locker (e.g., Loctite) is recommended to secure all screws, bolts, and nuts. It is crucial to check the tightness of all hardware after the first 50 km of riding.

Assembly Steps
Right Side Assembly
Refer to Diagram 1.
- Mount the Right Protector (1) to the motorcycle's frame. Use M10/125x80 Allen screw (7) with Ø22.5 x Ø10.5 long. 17mm spacer (9) at the upper mounting point. Use Ø28 x Ø12.5 long.35mm spacer (14) and M12 DIN125/A washer (16) at the lower mounting point, secured by M12 locknut (17).
- Install the Central Pipe (3) between the frame and the protector. Secure it using M8x35 Allen screw (4), M8 DIN125/A washers (5), and M8 DIN6923 nut (6).
- The Rod (13) is positioned and secured as part of the overall structure, connecting components as depicted.
- Place the plastic cap (18) onto the head of the M12 screw.
Left Side Assembly
Refer to Diagram 2.
- Mount the Left Protector (2) to the motorcycle's frame. Use M10/125x100 Allen screw (8) with Ø22.5 x Ø10.5 long.20mm spacer (10) at the upper mounting point. Use Ø28 x Ø12.5 long.22mm spacer (15) and M12 DIN125/A washer (16) at the lower mounting point, secured by M12 locknut (17).
- Install the Central Pipe (3) between the frame and the protector. Secure it using M8x35 Allen screw (4), M8 DIN125/A washers (5), and M8 DIN6923 nut (6).
- The Rod (13) is positioned and secured as part of the overall structure, connecting components as depicted.
- Fit the Round tip (12) onto the end of the Rod (13).
- Place the plastic cap (18) onto the head of the M12 screw.
Final Checks
After completing the installation on both sides, re-verify all screw tightness. Ensure all hardware is secured according to the specified torque values. It is recommended to check the tightness again after the first 50 km of riding.
