Product Overview

Altronix Trove Mercury kits are pre-assembled and consist of a Trove1M1 enclosure/backplane with factory-installed Altronix power supply/charger and sub-assemblies. These kits accommodate various combinations of Mercury boards for up to four (4) doors in a single enclosure.

Installation Instructions

Wiring methods shall be in accordance with the National Electrical Code/NFPA 70/ANSI and with all local codes and authorities having jurisdiction. Product is intended for indoor use only.

  1. Remove backplane from enclosure. Do not discard hardware.
  2. Mark and predrill holes in the wall to line up with the top two (2) keyholes in the enclosure. Install two upper fasteners and screws in the wall with the screw heads protruding. Place the enclosure's upper keyholes over the two upper screws; level and secure. Mark the position of the lower two holes. Remove the enclosure. Drill the lower holes and install the two fasteners. Place the enclosure's upper keyholes over the three upper screws. Install the two lower screws and make sure to tighten all screws.
  3. Mount included UL Listed tamper switch (Altronix Model T112 or equivalent) in desired location, opposite hinge. Slide the tamper switch bracket onto the edge of the enclosure approximately 2” from the right side. Connect tamper switch wiring to the Access Control Panel input or the appropriate UL Listed reporting device. To activate alarm signal, open the door of the enclosure. (Refer to Figure 1 for tamper switch placement on enclosure edge.)
  4. Position Mercury access controller modules over corresponding spacers and depress onto snap-on spacers. (Refer to Figures 2, 2a, 3, 3a for component placement.)
  5. Refer to the ULXB Power Supply/Charger Installation Guide for AL400ULXB2, and corresponding Sub-Assembly Installation Guides for ACM4(CB), PDS8(CB), and VR6 for further installation instructions.
  6. Mount backplane to enclosure with hardware.

  • 5/16" Pan Head Screw
  • Lock Nut

T1MK14 and T1MK14D: Configuration of Mercury Boards

  1. Fasten snap-on spacers onto metal PEMs configuration (A), (B), (C), or (D) of the backplane, depending on the access controller.
  2. Position access controller module over corresponding spacers and depress onto snap-on spacers.
  3. Mount backplane to enclosure with hardware.

It indicates the four possible mounting positions (A, B, C, D) for Mercury access controller modules using snap-on spacers on the backplane.

Figure 3 & 3a Description: Illustrates the backplane layout for T1MK14S/T1MK14SD kits. Shows the placement of Altronix AL400ULXB2 power supply/charger, Altronix VR6 voltage regulator (mounted under PDS8(CB)), Altronix PDS8(CB) dual input power distribution module, and Altronix ACM4(CB) access power controller. It indicates the four possible mounting positions (A, B, C, D) for Mercury access controller modules using snap-on spacers on the backplane.

Trove1 Enclosure Dimensions

The Trove1 enclosure has approximate dimensions of 18" Height x 14.5" Width x 4.625" Depth (457mm x 368mm x 118mm).

  • Overall Width: 14.5" (321.3mm)
  • Overall Height: 18" (457.2mm)
  • Overall Depth: 4.625" (118mm)
  • Top edge features two keyholes spaced 7.25" (184.2mm) apart, with a 1.45" (36.8mm) diameter cable entry hole to the left of the keyholes.
  • Side edges have mounting hole patterns. The left side shows a 4.5" (114.3mm) spacing for two holes, with a 1.25" (31.8mm) offset from the top and bottom edges, and a 0.57" (14.5mm) diameter hole. The right side mirrors this pattern.
  • The backplane area is approximately 13.0" (330.2mm) wide.
  • Various mounting hole locations are indicated on the backplane, including circular holes with diameters like 1.95" (49.5mm) and 1.115" (28.3mm), and slots like 1.36" (34.5mm).
  • Bottom edge features mounting holes: two 4.5" (114.3mm) spaced holes, with a 2.75" (69.9mm) offset from the sides, and two lower holes with 1.1" (27.9mm) and 1.36" (34.5mm) measurements.
